10 night road trip
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN WINDHOEK
The capital of Namibia, Windhoek is a vibrant city nestled in the country's central highlands. It features striking architecture, including the Christuskirche and Tintenpalast, alongside bustling markets and lively restaurants.

DAY 2: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK - ONGUMA PRIVATE RESERVE
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Etosha National Park, in the Onguma Private Game Reserve. For over 100 years, zebras, elephants, giraffes, oryx, blue wildebeest, gazelles, kudu and a variety of other rare animals have roamed the park in peace. If you're lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of nocturnal predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas or jackals roaming the savannah.
It is also renowned for its vast salt pan - the Etosha Basin - which, depending on the season, is dry and dusty in the midday heat or attracts thousands of migratory birds after heavy rain.

DAYS 3 - 4: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
While you're in the park, take the opportunity to see the park's majestic animals on a safari (at extra cost; to be selected at the time of booking).

DAY 5: DAMARALAND
Drive to Damaraland and discover its dramatic landscapes which are made up of inselbergs and isolated island-shaped rocks.
As you approach Uis, admire the country's highest mountain, the Brandberg, which is home to Bushman paintings including the famous White Lady.

Day 6: Swakopmund
Before setting off for Swakopmund, you can opt for a visit to the Petrified Forest, the town of Twyfelfontein or the village of Damara (not included).

DAY 7: SWAKOPMUND
Swakopmund is a city with an important historical past and a seaside resort on the Atlantic Ocean prized by Namibians. Built in the early days of German colonisation to serve as a port, this town has managed to retain its unique character over time.

DAY 8: NAMIB DESERT
From Swakopmund, you'll head into the Namib Desert. This is the gateway to the Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, where some of the world's highest sand dunes rise above the white plains of the desert.

DAY 9: SOSSUSVLEI
Set off early today to witness the sunrise with magnificent views along the road to Sossusvlei. Shortly after sunrise, enter the Namib Naukluft National Park where the first rays of the sun colour the sand mountains in shades of apricot, red and orange, against a clear blue sky.
See the surreal Deadvlei, surrounded by some of the highest dunes in the world, and Sossusvlei, where the dried-up Tsauchab River ends abruptly between the dunes.
Climb one of these majestic dunes and admire the desert landscape at the top, then descend along the rocks towards the Sesriem Canyon.

DAY 10: KALAHARI DESERT
It's time to head to the Kalahari Desert. Once you've arrived at your lodge, you can opt for a guided excursion into the desert by car (not included).
Spanning across Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa, the Kalahari Desert is a vast semi-arid sandy savannah known for its striking red dunes and unique ecosystem. Despite its arid conditions, the desert supports a variety of wildlife, including meerkats, gemsbok, and numerous bird species, along with resilient flora like the camelthorn tree.

DAY 11: DEPARTURE
Drive back to Windhoek to return your hire car to the airport and catch your flight home.

DAY 10: LÜDERITZ
Take advantage of your last day in the Namib Desert to visit the charming village of Lüderitz, in the south of the territory between the desert and the Fish River Canyon. This village is inhabited by the Nama people, who live off livestock and agriculture.

DAYS 11 TO 12: FISH RIVER CANYON
During your days here, discover the spectacular scenery of the Canyon, as you wind your way along the roads to the ghost town of Kolmanskop, or marvel at the viewpoint over the Fish River.
One of the most impressive natural wonders on the continent, Fish River Canyon has been carved out over millions of years by the Fish River, and features dramatic, rugged landscapes with steep cliffs and deep ravines.

DAY 13: GARAS QUIVER TREE FOREST
Garas Quiver Tree Forest is found near Keetmanshoop in southern Namibia.
Find a striking landscape featuring a dense concentration of quiver trees, which are characterised by their tall, forked branches and distinctive bark.
See them silhouetted against the dramatic Namibian sky at sunrise or sunset for the best photos of this otherworldy place.

Catamaran Charters: Morning dolphin and seal cruise (Walvis Bay, Swakopmund Region)
Set sail between 08:45 and 09:00 (check-in at 08:30) from the pier on the Walvis Bay waterfront for a marine excursion in the bay area in search of whales, dolphins, mola, Leatherback turtle and seals.
Go past oyster farms as you approach Pelican Point, with its emblematic lighthouse and 60,000 resident Cape fur seals.
In season (July to November), larger mammals such as the southern right whale and humpback whale are often spotted, while other whale species, such as the grey whale and pygmy right whale, have made their appearance. Bottlenose dolphins, Heaviside dolphins and dusky dolphins are regularly sighted, as are sunfish and Leatherback turtles.
Whenever possible, the sails are hoisted and the engines are switched off to let you experience real sailing.
Charly's Desert Tours: Morning dunes experience (Swakopmund)
Join an extraordinary exploration of the coastal dune belt just outside Swakopmund. Observe palm geckos, sand lizards, the famous Tok-Tokkie beetle hiding in the mist, Sidewinder snakes, spiders, scorpions and chameleons.

Enjoy an afternoon safari in the stunning Etosha National Park iin open vehicles.
There are around 114 mammal species in the Etosha. These include the black-faced impala, while there are no southern impala in the park, and the endangered black and white rhinoceros.
