Vehicle type: Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 (or similar)
Drivers and additional drivers: The rented vehicle may only be driven by the renter, the main driver or any additional drivers expressly specified in the rental agreement.
The minimum age for driving is 23 years and the driver must have held a valid driving licence for at least one year.
Surcharge for drivers under 23 years of age: NAD 1,705.00
Use of the vehicle:
The vehicle may not be used to transport passengers or goods for payment, nor for towing operations, unless expressly authorised.
Use for motor sports, illegal activities or outside the borders of Namibia is prohibited unless authorised in writing.
Insurance and damages:
Exclusions: Insurance does not cover damage if the vehicle is driven by an unauthorised person, if it is driven off the road, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if it is used in breach of the rental agreement.
Liability: The renter is liable for all damages not covered by the insurance, including damage, loss or theft of the vehicle.
Rental period and return:
The vehicle must be returned on the agreed date and in good condition. Otherwise, additional charges may apply.
Security Deposit:
A security deposit of NAD 2,500.00 per vehicle is required.
The deposit will be refunded if the vehicle is returned undamaged and with a full tank of fuel.
All major credit cards are accepted, except DINERS CLUB and AMERICAN EXPRESS.
Failure to return the vehicle on time may result in legal action and/or the vehicle being reported as stolen.
Cancellation conditions:
More than 30 days before collection: full refund
14-30 days before collection: penalty of 15% of the total amount
7-13 days before collection: 25% penalty
Less than 7 days or no-show: 50% penalty
Fines and liability:
The hirer is liable for any fines (e.g. traffic or parking violations) during the rental period.
The company is authorised to provide all information required by the authorities to handle such fines.
Reporting accidents:
In the event of an accident, loss or theft of the vehicle, the lessee must inform the rental company immediately and report the incident to the police within 24 hours.
The lessee must not admit fault or handle claims directly.
Payment and expenses:
Payment is due for all costs, including any penalties or damages.
In the event of delay, interest may be charged. All legal costs incurred for the recovery of amounts due shall be borne by the lessee.
