Petrovac —
One of the greatest attributes of Montenegro is the glorious coastline and far-stretching beaches. The beaches on the Budva Riviera are perfect for soaking up some rays - all 17 of them - including the famous Sveti Stefan. So whether you wish to build sandcastles, relax on a lounger or take a gentle walk along the golden sands, this is the area for you.
Stari Grad, or Budva Old Town, is the jewel in the crown of the Riviera, a 15th-century citadel overlooking the bay and serving as a backdrop to theatre, art and music events throughout the summer. The architecture, painstakingly restored after a devastating 1979 earthquake, is in the Roman style of the Venetian Republic, and encompasses the honey-coloured Church of St Ivan and its Gothic bell tower.
