Budva —
Each year, tourism in Montenegro seems to come on in leaps and bounds, as more and more keen adventurers learn about the bountiful beauty, temperate climate, and exceptional landscapes this country has to offer. Nestled alongside the blissfully blue Adriatic coastline, Montenegro offers action-packed excitement, fascinating culture, sun-kissed beaches and spectacular attractions, making it a prime holiday destination for guests of all ages and desires.
Stari Grad, or Budva Old Town, is the jewel in the crown of the Riviera, a 15th-century citadel overlooking the bay and serving as a backdrop to theatre, art and music events throughout the summer. The architecture, painstakingly restored after a devastating 1979 earthquake, is in the Roman style of the Venetian Republic and encompasses the honey-coloured Church of St Ivan and its Gothic bell tower.
