Masai Mara National Reserve

The Masai Mara is known as one of Africa's greatest Wildlife Reserves, situated in southwest Kenya. It is famous for its abundance of big cats - lion, leopard and cheetah - the Great Wildebeest Migration and its countless zebras. Meet the local Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress, and discover a different way of life. When on a game drive, experience what many people only dream of in a lifetime - days spent side by side with some of the greatest members of the animal kingdom, seen in their natural habitat. During this safari stay, you will spend time in the Masai Mara North Conservancy.

Zanzibar

The historic spice island of Zanzibar lies just off the coast of Tanzania, and promises visitors a once-in-a-lifetime holiday experience, whether that be at the tail end of a thrilling safari or independently as an island adventure. Zanzibar caters for every traveller, whether that be those looking to backpack on a budget, or those interested in enjoying a luxurious and exotic 5* getaway.

In terms of attractions, Zanzibar is as varied as it is beautiful, ensuring guests in search of diversity are constantly surprised. Stone Town should be number 1 on any tourist's bucket-list. Charismatic, full of life and rich in history and culture, the quaint, cobbled streets of Stone Town are a delight to explore and offer up no end of treats, including the relaxed seafront promenade, the faded colonial buildings, the colourful food markets and unique touches such as the Aldabra giant tortoises at Prison Island (a short 30-minute boat ride from Stone Town itself).

Given its historical focus on the spice industry, an informative spice tour is also highly recommended! For those who simply wish to lay back, soak up the sunshine and unwind with a cocktail in hand, Zanzibar's many beaches are also destined to delight. Favourites include Nungwi and Kendwa in the north of the island, where tourists are sure to be awe-struck by an untouched Indian Ocean paradise.

Your Optional Excursions

Our members can choose to add the following excursions at the next stage of the booking process for an additional fee - subject to availability.

Jozani Forest Tour & Dolphin Trip with lunch (excludes drinks)

Your Optional Excursions
In southern Zanzibar, the Jozani Forest is a fantastic reserve and the only National Park on the island. Currently waiting to become the second World Heritage Site of Zanzibar, the Jozani Chwaka Bay region is a hotspot for biodiversity. This forest is home to a number of endemic species - unique to only Zanzibar and one of the rarest monkeys in the world, the endangered Red Colobus Monkey is a joy and privilege to witness.

Your discovery will take you on a journey through the lush, tropical forest surrounded by mangroves and salt marshes and filled with diverse trees & fauna. Here, your guide will teach you about the medicinal properties of various plants and will introduce you to the animals, birds and reptiles that inhabit this enchanting rainforest.

As you look up through the luscious jungle, be on the lookout for the famous red colobus monkeys of Zanzibar who may be searching in the trees for their dinner. Accustomed to visitors, you will have no trouble watching them while they eat or play.

Walking through the mangroves will take you over the marsh, where, depending on the tide, you can see tropical fish between the roots of the mangrove and crabs wandering through the mud. Mangroves play an important role in the conservation of the environment and are an essential resource for villagers. Your guide will give you be able to inform you on the different species found in the marsh and their job in this environment.

Continue your day with a transfer to Kizimkazi, on the south coast of Zanzibar, where you’ll set out to sea to experience a half-day of dolphin watching at their favourite hangout along the shallow coast. Kizimkazi is home to many dolphins, beautiful coral reefs and tropical fish.

Upon arrival, you will be briefed by security and will then embark on your boat to go in search of these marvellous mammals.

On this trip, you will be able to get as close as 10-20 metres to the dolphins, watching them play and jump through the water. However, dolphins are not tame and can be shy, so dolphin-spotting isn’t 100% guaranteed. On the other hand, this trip does give you the chance to sail the gorgeous coastline upon which you can admire the glistening ocean – why not head in the waters for a snorkel to see the coral reef, and swim in the clear, warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

You will then head back to the beach for a relaxing break with the crew.

Important information:
- Day trip with lunch included (excluding drinks)
- To bring: walking shoes, sunscreen, swimsuit and beach towel
- It is strictly forbidden to touch the monkeys
