Your Destination —
Lying just four degrees south of the equator, Chale Island offers you a choice of worlds that no other island can equal. Coral seas abundant with fish life, coastal forests and mangroves teaming with bird and insect life, snow white beaches offering safe warm bathing, and of course Kenya’s world famous safari parks. Chale Island is a small romantic island situated 600 metres off the mainland. The Island is divided into two parts; resort and sacred forest or “kaya”. The resort lies in 15 acres of indigenous ancient forest, with a stunning 10,000 squaremetre white sand bay which is protected by a vibrant coral reef.
With an explosion of colourful flora and fauna the island is truly magical and if that is not enough, also features a mystical inland tidal mangrove lake.

On the other side of the Island by the SPA and fitness area is a salt-water swimming pool with steps leading directly into the sea at high tide offering a magical swim through the mangroves to the main jetty. With steps leading straight down to the centre of the beach, the main restaurant is ideally situated to give the true island feeling. The expert team of highly trained cooks will make sure that every meal is a pleasure.
Safari Itinerary —
1 Night Safari
Day 1: Chale – Tsavo East Safari (245Kms/4h)
Leaving Chale Island after early breakfast, you will be driven to this safari and will enjoy a game drive as well as dinner and an overnight.
Day 2: End of Safari Services (245Kms/4h)
Day two will consist of breakfast at the lodge, a morning game drive, lunch and an end of safari services.
2 Night Safari
Day 1: Chale Island – Shimba Hills National Reserve (60Kms/1h)
After breakfast, depart to Shimba Hills National Reserve, located 45km from Diani Beach. The reserve is the second largest rainforest in the coastal region, with rich flora and fauna - it hosts the highest number of the African elephant and the rare Sable Antelope. Enjoy a game drive followed by a visit to the magnificent Sheldrick waterfalls.
The afternoon will be spent at leisure at the lodge or game drive, before an afternoon sundowner at the lodge Overnight at your Lodge on a full board basis.
Day 2: Shimba Hills – Ngutuni/Taita Hills (245Km/4h)
After breakfast, you will depart to Ngutuni Sanctuary. Arrive for a game drive in the sanctuary and later enjoy lunch at your Lodge. After lunch drive to Taita Hills. Check in, dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: End of Safari Services
Day three will consist of breakfast at the lodge, a morning game drive, lunch and an end of safari services.
3 Night Safari
Day 1: Mombasa - Tsavo East (245 km / 4 hours)
After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your beach hotel and depart to Tsavo East National Park. Upon entering the park the driver will open the roof of your bus, the safari has begun! You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and later enjoy time for relaxation before setting off back into the park for your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight.
Day 2: Tsavo East National Park - Amboseli (315 km / 5 hours)
After an early breakfast, depart to Amboseli national park. If the weather is clear you’ll catch sight of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro directly ahead. Entering the gate you will enjoy game viewing on route to your camp, arriving in time for lunch. After some time for relaxation or a dip in the inviting swimming pool, set out into the national park for a game drive. Return to the camp as the sun sets. Overnight.
Day 3: Amboseli – Taita Hills Game Sanctuary (250 km / 4 hours)
Following an early morning game drive and breakfast, depart east to Taita Hills, arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive in the Sanctuary, with you returning to the lodge as the sun sets. After dinner set out on a night game drive, this time with an opportunity to view nocturnal wildlife in their habitat. Overnight.
Day 4: End of Safari Services
Day four will consist of breakfast at the lodge, a morning game drive, lunch and an end of safari services.

You may choose to add the following excursions at the next stage of the booking process.
Take part in an unforgettable day at one of the last ecologically intact paradises on Earth. After being picked up from your hotel, you will be driven to the base camp in Bodo - an ancient finishing village that is 1 hour South of Mombasa. After a light breakfast, you will sail to Funzi island where you get a glimpse into the everyday life of a Shirazi Swahili Village that has remained unchanged for 100 years.
Enjoy a canoe trip up the Ramisi river to explore a unique eco-system protected by dense mangroves. You will observe a large variety of birdlife and the occasional Crocodile or Giant Lizard from the safety of your canoe. You will then journey to an isolated sandbank in the warm Indian Ocean where you can swim and relax on the warm white sand.
Then sail to Kinazini, an uninhabited private Island Restaurant. Here, there is a chance that you will see dolphins or giant turtle sea turtle on the way! Once there you will enjoy a sumptuous seafood BBQ lunch, including delicious crab and lobster. After lunch, you have time for a siesta or swim as you explore the island before sailing back to Bodo for a transfer back to the hotel.
This excursion allows our guests to truly scout out the local aquatic inhabitants of Kenya, with access to snorkelling in order to truly gain immersion into life in this region!
