When on a game drive, experience what many people only dream of in a lifetime - days spent side by side with some of the greatest members of the animal kingdom, seen in their natural habitat.
Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your first hotel where you can unwind after your flight (approx. travel time: 35 minutes).
Day 2: Nairobi - Shaba Game Reserve (approx. travel time: 5 hours 35 minutes)
Heading north after an early breakfast and pass through some breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. After Nanyuki town, continue north, eventually reaching a dusty outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier district.
Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive, arriving back at the lodge as the sun sets.
Day 3: Shaba Game Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning as you please - we suggest that you spend it by the pool! After lunch, there will be another game drive, returning as the sun sets.
Day 4: Shaba Game Reserve - Lake Nakuru (approx. travel time: 6 hours 10 minutes)
Leaving Shaba behind, travel south through Isiolo, crossing the northernmost foothills of Mount Kenya, until you get to the town of Nanyuki. Head north-west towards Nyahururu, before turning in a southerly direction to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru.
Once in the park, view game en route to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets - keep an eye out for the reserve's most famous residents: the vast flocks of flamingoes, the Black and White Rhinos and the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara Game Reserve (approx. travel time: 7 hours)
Following an early morning breakfast leave the flamingo fringed Lake Nakuru behind and head for Njoro town, where you begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment, then travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand.
Travel across the "breadbasket" of Kenya, covered with acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the camp as the sun sets.
Day 6: Masai Mara Game Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive followed by breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning as you please. After lunch, there will be another game drive, returning as the sun sets.
Day 7: Masai Mara Game Reserve - Nairobi (approx. travel time: 6 hours 30 minutes)
Enjoy breakfast then depart the Masai Mara and head across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you pass through. Arrive in Kenya’s bustling capital around midday (lunch not included) and continue to your final hotel.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home (approx. travel time: 10 minutes).
