The Amman Citadel: Overlooking the city, the Citadel is one of Jordan’s oldest archaeological sites. It features remains from several civilisations, including Roman, Byzantine and Umayyad periods. Highlights include the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, and the impressive 13-metre-high statue of Hercules.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Ajloun Castle, a medieval fortress located in the north-western highlands of Jordan. The As-Salt Historical Museum, housed in a 19th-century residence, offers fascinating exhibitions on the history of the town and the surrounding region.
Then head to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth (429 metres below sea level). Itoffers a truly unique experience. Thanks to its exceptionally high salt and mineral content, you can float effortlessly on its surface. The Dead Sea is famous for its therapeutic properties, particularly for skin care. You may also apply the mineral-rich black mud, well known for its beneficial effects.

Explore Mount Nebo, a major Christian pilgrimage site, where Moses is believed to have glimpsed the Promised Land before his death. The site offers spectacular views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and, on clear days, Jerusalem. At the summit stands the Memorial Church of Moses, adorned with beautiful mosaics.
Then, discover the Kerak Crusader Castle, built in the 12th century, one of the most impressive fortresses in the Middle East. Overlooking the surrounding valley, it offers sweeping panoramic views and once served as a strategic stronghold during the Crusades.

DAY 6: PETRA – WADI RUM
Visit Petra, an ancient city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Once the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom, Petra is renowned for its spectacular monuments carved directly into the rose-coloured sandstone cliffs.
The Siq, a narrow gorge, flanked by towering rock walls, serves as the dramatic entrance to Petra. It leads to the iconic Treasury (Al-Khazneh), undoubtedly the most famous monument in the site.
Explore the Treasury (Al-Khazneh). This majestic façade, standing 45 metres high, is believed to have served as a temple or a royal mausoleum.
End your morning by discovering the Royal Tombs, a series of impressive tombs carved into the cliffs, once used as burial places for Nabataean kings and nobles.
After lunch, depart for the Wadi Rum Desert. If Petra is the result of the combined work of man and nature, the cliffs, peaks and valleys of Wadi Rum owe their serene beauty and overwhelming grandeur, according to T. E. Lawrence, solely to nature itself. This site played a key role during the Great Arab Revolt and was immortalised by director David Lean in some of the most striking scenes of the film Lawrence of Arabia.

DAY 7: WADI RUM: 4X4 TOUR – AMMAN
