Your itinerary in detail —
AMMAN
Nestled between hills and desert, Jordan's capital, Amman, captivates visitors with its blend of ancient history and vibrant modernity. Its lively streets, scented with spices and cardamom coffee, lead to gems such as the Citadel and the Roman Theatre. From colourful markets and trendy cafés to panoramic views across its seven hills, Amman offers an authentic experience where Jordanian hospitality can be felt on every corner. As the gateway to wonders such as Petra and the Dead Sea, the city invites discovery, balancing preserved traditions with contemporary energy.
JERASH
Nicknamed the Pompeii of the East, Jerash reveals one of the best-preserved Roman sites in the world. Its collonaded streets, majestic temples and impressive hippodrome recount over two thousand years of history. Set within a gently rolling landscape, Jerash offers a captivating immersion into Antiquity, where architectural grandeur meets an atmosphere of timelessness.
WADI RUM
Wadi Rum unfolds breathtaking landscapes of crimson cliffs, ochre dunes and natural arches stretching as far as the eye can see. This majestic desert, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has inspired explorers, filmmakers and travellers in search of adventure. Whether hiking, riding a camel or spending a night beneath the stars in a Bedouin camp, every moment reveals the raw, silent beauty of nature. Land of nomadic traditions and fiery sunsets, Wadi Rum offers a unique immersion into the soul of Jordan.
IRAQ AL-AMIR
Nestled in the verdant hills west of Amman, Iraq al-Amir is a hidden gem where history and nature intertwine. The site is home to the grand Qasr al-Abd, a rare Hellenistic palace in Jordan, whose massive stone blocks and animal carvings showcase ancient craftsmanship. Surrounded by caves carved into the rock and pastoral landscapes, Iraq al-Amir invites visitors to step back in time, combining archaeological discovery with rural charm. An authentic place that unveils a peaceful and little-known side of Jordan’s heritage.
PETRA
A jewel of the Jordanian desert and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Petra astonishes with its monumental façades carved into rose-red rock. Once the capital of the Nabataean kingdom, this troglodytic city unveils, beyond the famous Siq, the majestic Treasury with its soaring columns, before revealing temples, tombs and stairways hewn into the cliffs. Bathed in shifting light and shrouded in an air of mystery, every step tells a story more than two thousand years old.
MADABA & MOUNT NEBO
Known for its exquisite Byzantine mosaics, Madaba enchants with a unique artistic heritage, most famously the sixth-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. Its churches and quiet lanes breathe history and tradition. Just a few kilometres away, Mount Nebo offers a breathtaking panorama over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and, on clear days, Jerusalem. A major pilgrimage site, it is steeped in spiritual atmosphere, marked by the biblical memory of Moses gazing upon the Promised Land.
THE DEAD SEA
Lying more than 400 metres below sea level, the Dead Sea is as fascinating as it is enigmatic. Its dense waters, saturated with salt and minerals, offer a unique experience: floating effortlessly while enjoying therapeutic benefits known since antiquity. Framed by golden cliffs and white crystal beaches, this sun-drenched inland sea is a haven of relaxation and renewal. Between soothing mineral mud baths and fiery sunsets, the Dead Sea is a natural jewel where time itself seems to stand still.
Important information about your tour and visits: The hotels, which comply with local standards, are indicative and may be changed locally for hotels of a similar category. The itinerary is subject to changes due to compelling reasons such as delayed flights, weather conditions or other cases of force majeure. The order of visits is also subject to change without affecting the overall experience of the itinerary. In Jordan, tipping is customary for all those involved throughout your tour and represents a significant part of their income. At the beginning of the trip, your guide will request a contribution of 25 dinars per person. This amount is then distributed fairly among restaurant staff, hotel staff, waiters, porters, 4x4 drivers, staff in Wadi Rum, as well as the coach driver. Collecting this at the start of the journey helps ensure smooth organisation and equitable distribution. As for your guide, it is customary to give a separate gratuity at the end of the tour, at your discretion. This too represents the main part of their earnings. As a guideline, you may consider around 3 dinars per person, per day. You are, of course, free to give more or less, but any gesture will be greatly appreciated.
