Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Pisa & transfer to Montecatini
Fly to Pisa and transfer to Montecatini Terme, a handsome spa town in northwest Tuscany. Enjoy the rest of the day free to get to know this elegant town, your base for the next seven nights. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel, perhaps venturing out later to sample Montecatini's relaxed nightlife.
Overnight in Hotel Du Parc Regina with dinner included.
Following breakfast, enjoy a morning walking tour of this delightful town, one of Tuscany's best-known spa centres. With a guide, stroll around the genteel streets past chic shops and cafes, and stretch your legs around the lush central park, home to graceful spa buildings. On your way, hear how Montecatini's curative mineral waters have drawn visitors through the centuries, including Italy's royals and aristocrats.
This afternoon, enjoy free time to relax on your own or explore Montecatini as you please. Perhaps visit the original town of Montecatini Alto, perched on the hillside above the spa town. Ride the funicular up to this lovely village to enjoy its restaurant-lined Piazza Giusti and far-reaching views over the Tuscan countryside.

Tuscany's capital of Florence bowls visitors over with its exquisite Renaissance architecture and art, examples of which frame its cobbled piazzas and Arno River. Today, set off on a half-day excursion to this glorious city, which is ideal for exploring on foot thanks to being partially closed to traffic.
On a walking tour, wonder at the city's main highlights, including the Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio - the 14th century, shop-lined bridge across the Arno. Other must-sees include the Piazza Santa Croce, with its Gothic church, and the magnificent Duomo, crowned by Brunelleschi's world-famous dome. You can then enjoy free time to explore at your own pace. Later, return to Montecatini for dinner at your hotel.

Enjoy the morning free to unwind or delve further into Montecatini. Perhaps wander through its delightful gardens, peruse the boutiques or pamper yourself with a well-being treatment at the thermal baths and spa centres. This afternoon, visit two of Tuscany's gems - Lucca and Pisa. Spend time in the beautifully preserved, walled town of Lucca, birthplace of composer Puccini, whose Roman and medieval centre brims with picturesque piazzas, churches and townhouses.
Dive into the cobbled lanes and squares, and view the main landmarks as you learn about Lucca's history from your guide. Continue to Pisa for a guided tour of its stunning 'Field of Miracles' piazza, home to the iconic Leaning Tower. Take photos at the structure as you learn how it began to lean during construction, and afterwards, travel back to Montecatini. This evening, be sure to join an optional dinner of delicious Tuscan fare.

Day 5: Montecatini
Relax with another free day, perhaps discovering more of Montecatini and its old town of Montecatini Alto independently. Alternatively, you may wish to take our optional excursion to two of Tuscany's finest hill towns. Drive to medieval Siena, whose narrow streets encase its fan-shaped Piazza del Campo, famous for its Palio horse race. Your excursion then continues to postcard-pretty San Gimignano, whose 13 towers loom over its jumble of red rooftops.

Leave Montecatini for the day and admire Tuscany's undulating landscapes on route to the gorgeous Chianti wine region. Admire the vine-blanketed hills, olive groves and villages, and visit a wine estate to taste the area's red wines. After drinking in the scenery and slow tempo, arrive back at your Montecatini hotel in time for dinner.

Day 7: Montecatini
Spend another day at leisure in Montecatini, perhaps buying souvenirs or just absorbing the unhurried atmosphere. Alternatively, make the most of your last day on an optional trip to the pretty town of Vinci, the birthplace of Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci. Visit its Leonardo Museum to learn about his artistic and technical genius, and call at an olive oil mill to see how Tuscany's aromatic oils are made before returning to Montecatini.
