Your Destination —
The old harbour is the heart and soul of Reykjavík. With a backdrop of majestic Mount Esja and the beautiful Faxafloi Bay, you’ll find world-class restaurants, cutting edge galleries, funky cafés, and quirky shops. With it all, you’re still at the heart of a working harbour, where you can watch ships come in with their daily catches.
For stunning views of the city climb up Hallgrímskirkja Church tower or visit the pearl - an otherworldly creation with a viewing platform and a revolving restaurant on top of hot water storage tanks.
Your Itinerary —
Upon arrival, take the scheduled bus from the airport to your accommodation in Reykjavik. Have an early dinner, as you are leaving for a Northern Lights Hunt jeep tour afterwards. The transportation in Super Jeep will allow to reach the best spot to admire the dancing lights. If you are arriving to Iceland very late, we will move the tour to another night. Overnight: Reykjavik
Day 2: Take Walk on the Ice Side
A glacier walk is a great way to experience Icelandic nature, and a tour to Sólheimajökull glacier tongue is an ideal way to spend the day. On the two-hour drive from Reykjavík, you will pass right under the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano that caused so much trouble in the spring of 2010. Just east of the volcano lies Sólheimajökull, an outlet glacier from Mýrdalsjökull, Iceland’s fourth-largest glacier. There, we will go on a safe and easy glacier walk on crampons up onto the ice field. As we explore the wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges, and deep crevasses, you will learn more and more about these disappearing giants. Experienced mountain guides will teach you how to use basic glacier equipment necessary for this tour. On the way back we will stop at the picturesque waterfalls, Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Overnight: Reykjavik
Day 3: The Golden Circle and Fontana Wellness
This amazing day tour takes you around the Golden Circle to see three of Iceland’s highlights Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park, before heading to Fontana’s natural steam baths. The original sauna was built in the 1920s and was little more than a shack with two compartments, built above the hot spring that bubbles and gurgles below the ground. Today, a modern complex welcomes you to relax with various hot tubs and steam baths naturally heated by Icelandic hot springs. Before returning to Reykjavik, you will be offered some typical Icelandic rye bread which is slow-baked in the natural hot springs.
Day 4: Free day at leisure
Enjoy free day at leisure.
Day 5: Departure
Take the scheduled coach transfer to Keflavik International Airport
Please note: itinerary for 3 nights stay is same as above, without free day.
