New Voyage Privé —
Carefully selected by our experts especially for you
Your Destination —
As the lights come up each night, locals and visitors alike flock to get their fix of everything from farce to philosophy to folk music. And at the centre of it all is the awe-inspiring might of the Paris Opera, which gives the area its name.
Your hotel is within walking distance to Olympia Music Hall, Madeleine Church, Opera Garnier, fashion boutiques and art galleries.
Boulevard des Capucines
This is one of Baron Haussman’s four “Grands Boulevards”, steeped in cultural history. It was the home of wry, risqué music hall legend Mistinguett, and the scene of the Lumière brothers’ first-ever public movie projection. Plus, it's the location of a much-loved 19th century wooden roller coaster that was torn down in 1893 to make way for the Olympia Music Hall.
Passage des Panoramas
Take a stroll along the intriguing and elegant Passage des Panoramas. It's home to the Théâtre des Variétés, where theatre-goers pick up their tickets, then idle away an hour in the arcade’s bars and boutiques. Don’t miss the wonderful Stern family engraving shop, open since 1849.
The true heart of the neighbourhood, the awe-inspiring Palais Garnier is home to the Paris Opera ballet and the Paris Opera. The Opéra’s lavish and ostentatious decor (including a ceiling painted by Chagall) provided the inspiration for Gaston Leroux’s world-famous “Phantom of the Opera”.
