Volkswagen T-Cross for 3/4 people (Standard Offer)

Car rental conditions:

Valid driver's licenses or international permits are accepted in Costa Rica. They must be presented with the passport. It is very important to check that your passport bears the stamp of the date of entry into the country.

Cars should be driven on the right side of the road. Speed limits are displayed according to road conditions. Speed limits are different in rural and urban areas.

 

The minimum age for renting a vehicle is 21, and there is no maximum age for renting.
Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 will have to pay a daily supplement.
Drivers under 25 must pay a fee of $10.00 per day as young drivers.

If you are traveling with children, it is important to know that Costa Rican legislation clearly stipulates that children under the age of twelve must be installed in seats adapted to their age, height and weight. The car rental company provides a child car seat or booster seat for an additional cost of $6 per day.

 

Additional driver:

All additional drivers must meet all rental requirements.
Additional drivers must report to the rental counter with the primary renter.
Additional drivers must sign the rental agreement.
An additional daily rate may apply for any additional driver.

The additional driver can only be added to the contract at the pick-up location.
A maximum of four additional drivers per contract.

Forms of payment:
A passport in addition to a credit card, with available credit and in the renter's name, must be presented. The signature on the back must match the name printed on the card. In addition, if Renter conducts an online transaction, the number and name printed on the card presented by Renter must match the name and number on file for the online transaction.

Credit cards accepted: American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club

A credit card authorization in the amount of $500 plus estimated rental cost will be taken at time of rental. This authorization amount can be used for vehicle damage or late fees. In the event that the client refuses the CDW-TP, the amount held on the credit card will be 2500 USD plus the estimated cost of the rental.

Debit/cheque cards are only accepted at this center as final payment. Debit/check cards are considered cards other than American Express, MasterCard, VISA, Diners Club, Discover credit cards. Any other non-credit card without one of these logos is not accepted.

Cash is only accepted here as a form of final payment.

Like any other country in the world, Costa Rica faces the challenge of ensuring the safety of citizens and visitors. Avoid problems by following these recommendations:

When driving or parking your car, lock the doors and keep the windows closed.
When possible, try to park in parking lots, never on the street.
Never leave money, credit cards, bags or valuables in the car.
If you have a flat tire, if someone tells you there's a problem with your car, if you're being pushed from behind or someone is following you, don't stop. Ask for help from the police or go to a busy shopping mall.
Avoid stopping when a stranger asks you to drive them home.
If you need to look at a map, do so in a public, secure place or ask a police officer for directions. Don't stop in front of strangers.
Police tickets must be paid in banks, never directly to police officers.
The car will be handed over with a full tank of gasoline. We recommend that you also bring it back full, otherwise we will charge you a higher price than at gas stations. When refueling, please use premium gasoline.
If you are traveling to areas far from your hotel, you should have your passport with you and be careful. If you are staying near your hotel, keep your documents in a safe and carry a copy of your passport with all relevant information.
Please check the date and time you bring the car, so that they are ready to help you.

PROTECTION PACKAGE (NPP)

The National Protection Package (NPP) is a comprehensive product that includes Loss Damage Waiver and Theft Protection (LDW-TP), Third Party Liability (SLI), Zero Excess and Glass and Tire Insurance (W&T ), at a reduced price.

DAMAGE INSURANCE (LDW)
Renting a vehicle from National Car Rental means that you are responsible for returning it in the same condition as you received it. APD is not coverage, but does relieve you from any obligation to pay for theft, vandalism, collision and damage to the exterior of the vehicle, whoever is responsible, provided that you comply with the conditions set out in the rental agreement.

Once the APD is accepted, the renter will only be liable for the first $800-1,500 of the total damage charge (depending on vehicle type).

Renters may decline APD if the credit card they are paying with was issued in the United States or Canada, provides coverage, and can be verified by a National Car Rental employee in Costa Rica. There may be vehicle types for which APD is mandatory. If the APD is refused, the renter will be liable for all damages and the SLI policy will be binding. This cover does not include roadside assistance required due to customer negligence or assistance in the event of loss of keys, flat tire, etc.

SUPPLEMENTARY LIABILITY COVER (SLC)
This insurance policy releases you from any liability towards third parties. If you are involved in an accident while driving a rental car and damage is caused to third party property, SLI will cover up to ¢10,000,000.00 of damage to third party property.

National Car Rental warrants that all policyholders or parties insured under this policy will be covered.

This insurance policy covers up to ¢40 million PER PERSON and up to ¢100 million PER ACCIDENT in which the rental vehicle is involved. This policy covers "all sums for which the insured, or any other party covered by this policy, is held liable by final judgment, in connection with this accident and any personal or property damage caused by it". This coverage excludes the driver and any member of his family, anyone residing in the driver's household, or any member of the driver's family.

Under this insurance policy, the renter will be responsible for 20% of all damages, which in no case will be less than 250 USD.

This coverage becomes mandatory when the APD is refused.

$0.00 DEDUCTIBLE
When you rent a vehicle from National Car Rental and accept one of our covers, you become responsible for a specific excess amount for each one.

The $0.00 deductible option allows you to reduce your payment obligations under any of the previously accepted coverages, provided you agree to the terms of the rental agreement regarding policy deductibles. insurance accepted.

Damage caused by driving on sand, in water or under the influence of alcohol - as stated in the rental agreement - is not covered. If you decline this option, you will be responsible for paying the deductibles of the cover accepted, as stated in the rental agreement.

GLASS AND TIRES (W&T)
With this coverage, National Car Rental releases you from any obligation to pay for any tire/windshield damage caused by accidents, collisions, bad road conditions (does not cover theft).

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
National Car Rental offers reasonably priced locksmith, tow truck and battery charging services, as well as delivery of up to 3 gallons of fuel, for your rental vehicle.

Cover does not apply in case of negligence.
