DAY 6: MOHÁCS

DAY 7: VUKOVAR / NOVI SAD
Vukovar, a city deeply marked by the Croatian War of Independence, is home to historic treasures such as the Eltz Mansion, Baroque houses, the Franciscan monastery, St. James Catholic Church, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, and the birthplace of Nobel laureate Lavoslav Ružićka. Arrive early in the morning and enjoy free time to explore at your own pace, or join an optional guided walking tour (reservation required in advance).
In the afternoon, visit Novi Sad, Serbia’s cultural hub known as “the Athens of Serbia.” Discover Liberty Square with its grand palaces, the Town Hall, and the Cathedral with its tall spire. Where the Danube carves through the Carpathians, the Iron Gates gorge unfolds in spectacular cliffs and swirling currents. This dramatic stretch of river, straddling Serbia and Romania, is steeped in legend. Roman ruins cling to rocky shores, and colossal rock carvings loom over the water.
