Day 4: Sousse - El Jem-Matmata-Douz-Tozeur (included bus tour)
After breakfast at JAZ Tour KHALEF hotel, depart for El Jem (70km) and enjoy a visit of the magnificent Roman coliseum of El Jem. Your next stop is Matmata (278km), where you will pause for lunch and a visit of the troglodyte dwellings. A further 90km will take you to Douz " The Gateway to the Sahara". Here you have the option to add activities such as a Quad Bike ride (which can be booked and paid on-site). Your tour continues to Tozeur (126km) through Chott El Jerid (the largest salt marsh in the Sahara). Upon arrival in Tozeur, a very special city with its unique architecture, you can spend time discovering the markets at your own leisure.

Day 5: Tozeur - Ong Jemal (included bus tour)
After breakfast, depart with a 4x4 trip to discover the mountain oases: Tameghza, Chebika and Ong Jemal (30km). You will then return back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the city, "Dar Chraiet", and the medina of Tozeur where some of the most succulent dates in the world are cultivated. Here, you will have the option to join a tour of the oases in a traditional horse-drawn carriage (which can be booked and paid for on-site).

Day 6: Tozeur-Kairouan-Sousse (included bus tour)
Tuck into your final breakfast at Hotel Ras El Ain Tozeur before your then departure to Kairouan (295km), the spiritual capital of Tunisia. Enjoy visits to the amazing mosque of "Sidi Okba", the mausoleum of the barber, the old medina and the Aghlabid pools. After lunch, you will depart for Sousse (70km).

Tozeur
Tozeur is a beautiful city in southern Tunisia. Imagine, at the gateway to the Sahara Desert, thousands of palm trees shading picturesque little brick houses decorated with diamond motifs or snake friezes.
The moonscapes of the surrounding area have drawn star-studded casts here as an iconic filming destination. Fans of Star Wars are drawn towards the eerie sand-covered domes amidst the undulating setting of the Sahara. Chott El Jerid offers a stark contrast to the desert as a large salt marsh - a great location to admire glimmering mirages and take glorious sunset photos.
