Chiang Mai City Tour (included)
Staring at 08h30 pick up. King Mengraï chooses the site of Chiangmai to build the capital of the North in 1290. You will discover the vestiges of the ramparts and the moat that surround the Old City. Among the many temples of the city, you will visit the two main ones. Firstly, it will be the visit of Wat Chedi Luang temple and its grand chédi that was built at the end of the 14th century by King Saen Muang Ma to venerate the relics of his father. In the 16th century, an earthquake severely damaged it, but for more than 500 years it remained the tallest building in the city. Nearby you will visit the Wat Phra Singh temple built by King Pha Yu to honor the relics of his father King Kinh Kam Fu. In this temple built in 1345, you will see superb examples of classical North art: Lanna art including the Lah Khal viharn. The temple also holds a copy of some of the finest sacred texts in the region.
