The Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) is the local currency, though US dollars are widely accepted. Zanzibar is a year-round destination, but the coastal areas may see more rain during the long rains (March to May). Flights to Tanzania typically land at Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
