The small locality of Granö sits in the northernmost reaches of Sweden, about an hour north from the larger city of Umea, in the heart of Swedish Lapland. Indulge in delicious, freshly cooked meals in the resort's restaurant, where you can delight in local flavours and produce, including elk from the hotel's own wildlife area. In the summer, you can relax in the summer cafe which serves seasonal products like declious ice cream, as well as homemade coffee, and enjoy a buffet breakfast each morning between 7:30am and 10am. Guided Hike

Your Included Excursions
Feel, taste, discover! On this guided tour we find and discuss interesting plants and tree fungi that can be used as food or medicine. The forest has a lot to offer once you know what to look for and some healing plants also have a long tradition in the region as folk medicine. After this tour you will know how to treat a common cold, why moose love eating meadow sweet and how fantastic lingonberries are for your health. Further, we will pass during our hike different historical monuments from old time and get to know more about Granö an it’s history.

Duration: approx. 2 hours

Meeting point: Reception / Staring time you get to know by arrival (normally 10:00 but we reserve us the possibility for changes).

Good to know:

It is good if you can be in place 15 minutes before the tour starts at the reception.
Clothing: We recommend comfortable hiking shoes, long trousers, a long-sleeve top and a rain jacket. Be prepared for all weather conditions: sun, rain, snow, warm and cold.
Bring: Water bottle
The hike’s fitness level is low. We hike slowly through the forest and stop for interesting things to see and learn. This tour is suitable for adults and older children with an interest for nature

Northern Lights Tour

Enjoy a wonderful Northern lights tour on day 4 of your stay and experience the true magic of Swedish Lapland!

Duration: 2-3hrs, starting from the lodge. Includes warm drink and cookies, snowshoes and transfers. Day subject to change, subject to weather conditions.

Dog Sledding on Wheels

Your Optional Excursions
Get a taste of the traditional art of 'mushing'! This tour is one of our shorter tours and it is suitable for those who want to try to run your own dog team. You do not need to have any prior experience of dog sledding or be specially trained to cope with the tour. A perfect tour for seniors or families with children. We run through forests and over marshes.

The tour starts when you arrive at the kennel where you are welcomed by our guide that takes you to the dressing room where you can borrow clothes, shoes and gloves. Then you go to the dogs where the guide gives you a detailed description of how to handle the dog sled. You help to get the dogs ready. You drive two and two – one sits and one of you controls the sled. Halfway through the route you have the possibility to change places with each other.

Duration: 1.5 hours
Please note that children under 15yrs must be accompanied by an adult. Thursday to Tuesday 14.00-15.30, 850 SEK/person.

Husky Walk

Your Optional Excursions
Experience nature, activate your entire body and do it together with a new social and happy hiking buddy – a husky dog!

Greet the many dogs of Spruce Island Husky and see how the they live. In the walk you get a waist belt and your own dog that walk with you all the time. Along with a guide, you wander in forest terrain and experience nature in a new and exciting way. Be sure to dress in comfortable clothes and shoes that can withstand a little moisture.

Duration: 2 hours
Please note children under 15yrs must be accompanied by an adult.

Private Jacuzzi and Sauna Entrance

Down at Ume River Beach is our Utomhustunnor. Immerse yourself in heated water and enjoy a peaceful bath in our wood-fired hot tub where you can sit and enjoy the bright nights or the darkness of the Winter.

Flights: The flights included are with either a scheduled or no-frills airline and are subject to live availability and prices can change. You can choose your preferred departure times during the booking process. Please select your flight options carefully as departure and arrival airports may differ.

Transfers: Transfers are included for part of your journey, for flight-inclusive offers only. These include an overnight train from Stockholm to Vindeln train station, shared transfer from Vindeln to Granö Beckasin, and a shared transfer from Granö Beckasin to Umea Airport.

For inbound transfer arrangements please confirm with your transfer provider when you arrive. Alternatively, please check with the reception of your accommodation. If you still require assistance, please call the transfer provider directly.
