Aside from these thrilling activities, it's also worth paying a visit to Jukkasjärvi's Sámi church, parts of which date from 1608, making it the oldest surviving church in Lapland. Known locally as “Jukkas", this tiny village is a true Winter wonderland, most famed for its unique Icehotel.

Luleå is a coastal city and the largest in Swedish Lapland. It’s known for the Gammelstad Church Town, a cluster of well-preserved wooden houses and the stone Nederluleå Church from the 1400s. Day 1: Arrival into Stockholm
Upon arrival in Stockholm, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay at Clarion Amaranten 4* or similar in Stockholm.

Day 2: Stockholm

Day 3: SJ, Night train Stockholm - Kiruna
Today you will spend time in Stockholm before boarding the SJ night train which will take you to Kiruna. Overnight stay on board the SJ night train.

Day 4: Kiruna - Jukkasjärvi
Upon arrival in Kiruna, you will transfer to the iconic Icehotel in the tiny village of Jukkasjärvi. The rest of the day is free to explore your surroundings or book an optional excursion. Overnight in a 'Warm Room' at neighbouring Kaamos Hotel.

Clarion Amaranten Hotel 4* (or similar) in Stockholm

You will enjoy a 2-night stay in a Standard Room, with Bed & Breakfast.

A 1-minute walk from the metro station, this upscale, glass-facade hotel is 3 km from the Baroque Stockholm Palace and 2 km from the Ericsson Globe indoor arena. Modern, relaxed rooms come with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minifridges. Upgraded rooms add sitting areas and 102-cm flat-screens. Suites offer separate living areas, and family rooms have sofa beds. Room service is available 24/7.

Well-planned standard double rooms (22 sqm) feature an excellent workspace, good storage, LCD TV and comfortable beds. These standard rooms are available with either one double (140cm or 160 cm) or two single beds (90cm). The spacious bathrooms either have a shower or a bath.

Night train from Stockholm - Kiruna

The private compartment contains two made up beds and a wash hand basin. A key to the shower and toilet facilities (along the corridor) is hanging in the compartment, towels can be borrowed from the shower room. Breakfast is not included, but it can be bought in the onboard bistro which serves light meals and drinks. It is open from 06:30 hrs until 23:00 hrs. You may also bring your own food and drinks to consume on board if you wish.

Please note: Depending on which train is operating, the compartment may sometimes have its own private facilities but this is not guaranteed. You may bring food and non-alcoholic drinks with you on the train.

Icehotel - Jukkasjärvi

You will enjoy a 1-night stay in a Warm Room and a 1-night stay in an Ice Room, with Bed & Breakfast dining.

Icehotel is the world’s first hotel made of ice and snow. Founded in 1989, it is reborn in a new guise every winter, in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi – 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. When the first snow has sprinkled the whole of Jukkasjärvi with white, artists from all over the world come together in the village to take part in creating the art exhibition of snow, ice and light that makes up Icehotel. The 60 bedrooms are separated into "cold" and "warm" - the warm rooms are part of neighbouring Kammos Hotel, in traditional wooden chalet type houses.

The Icehotel restaurant and cocktail bar is warm and traditional – a welcome escape from the sub-zero temperatures. Sourcing ingredients from the local area, expect dishes featuring reindeer, moose, Arctic char and bramble berries, prepared by Michelin-trained head chef Alexander Meier and his team. The Icehotel Lounge is a cosy space serving light snacks, hot drinks, cocktails and beers. Open from December to April.

The Icebar is a unique place for a pre dinner drink, where everything, including the glasses is made entirely out of ice from the Torne River. The design of the bars is created by known artists from around the world changing from year to year just like the design of Icehotel.

Warm Room

These warm rooms, arranged in groups of 6-8 within a charming wooden chalet, are spacious and comfortable with a calm feel. Natural materials are complemented by neutral shades of white, grey and brown. All rooms are ground floor level, looking out over the spruce and birch trees, dusted in snow. The rooms have 2 single beds, desk and a seating area with two armchairs and a small coffee table. The hallway and en-suite tiled bathroom have heated stone floors.

Ice Room

The ice room has a classic design and holds a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius. The bed you sleep on has a thick mattress that rests on a wooden base. The bed is covered with reindeer hides and you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag. In the morning you are awakened with a cup of hot lingonberry juice at your bedside. Instead of doors, the hotel rooms have curtains that you draw to give you and your company privacy. In Dressing Room, the warm building adjacent to Icehotel, you will find communal changing rooms, toilets and saunas for women and men. Your luggage is stored in the luggage storage room prior to your overnight stay.

Ice Breaker Cruise in Luleå (Only available to guests choosing Offer 2)

Polar Explorer tourist Icebreaker offers 3 hours cruise in the frozen water of Bothnian sea in Lapland. During 3 hours you will be a witness of a massive ice breaking power of the vessel, have a guided tour all the way down to the engine rooms and all way up to Captain’s bridge.

The tour is available on 16 languages via audio guide application and includes 11 min movie in icebreaker cinema about icebreakers all over the world. You can relax in the cozy saloon, enjoying warm juice or go for walk on the frozen sea ice during the stop. The icebreaker makes a pool free of ice and every visitor can take a swim in the dark icy water in flotation survival suit. The captain will present Cruise & Swim Certificate to everyone as a memorable gift.
