Your itinerary in detail —
Day 1-3
Day 1: Arrival at the International Airport in Lima. Transportation service will wait for your arrival at the Lima Airport and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2: Enjoy a 4-hour city tour in Lima with an English-speaking guide and entrance to the Larco museum.
Your tour will start in downtown Lima. Visit the Main Square, where Lima was first founded as 'The City of Kings,' in 1535. It was already known by the name of Lima when Peru proclaimed its independence from the Spanish Crown in 1821. There you may see the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace and the Lima Cathedral.
Go to Saint Francis' Church and convent, which has an enviable collection of old books, and a network of catacombs, open to the public.
Next, you will go to Pueblo Libre district to visit the Larco Museum, founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926. The museum, located inside a viceregal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid from the 7th century, houses a most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artefacts as well pieces of erotic art.
Day 3: A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the established time and transfer you to the airport of Lima (driver only).
Transportation service will wait for your arrival at the Cusco Airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will be accompanied by a guide who will inform you about the attractions and services that the city has to offer. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 4-5
Day 4: Today, participate in a walking tour starting at the Coricancha Temple, one of the most important buildings in the city.
It was one of the most significant centres of worship to the Sun God of the Incas, and was converted into a convent after the arrival of the Spanish.
Visit the wonderful Cusco Cathedral, built between 1560 and 1664, and end the tour with a trip to the San Pedro market, with thousands of products from different areas of the region. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 5: In the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to visit the town of Chinchero, a traditional Cusco urban centre, located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area pay homage to Incan artisan traditions in their clothes and customs.
In Chinchero, there are also archaeological remains and a beautiful seventeenth-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru. You'll be transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay, making a stop at the Raqchi viewpoint. Watch demonstrations of textile work, adobe, pottery and silverware, carried out in an original recreation of Inca traditions. Residents of the museum also include llamas, sheep and alpacas!
Then, enjoy a delicious lunch in the town of Ollantaytambo and visit the ancient archaeological sites. At the end of this activity, you'll be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 6-8
Day 6: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At the established time, you will be transferred from your hotel to the train station in Sacred Valley (only driver).
Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes, arriving in approximately two hours. This town is also known as 'Machu Picchu pueblo' - the town of Machu Picchu - and is the last stop before entering the most important archaeological site in Peru. In Aguas Calientes you can find a train station, a craft market, restaurants, and hotels.
After a short transfer by bus, reach Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that served as a retreat for the Inca ruler Pachacuti. Machu Picchu, which means 'Old Mountain', is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
In the afternoon, head to the Aguas Calientes train station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo.
A transportation service (driver only) will pick you up from the Ollantaytambo train station at the set time, and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco City.
Day 7: Kick-start your final day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel, then enjoy a day at your own pace. Why not enjoy one of the optional tours?
Day 8: A transportation service will pick you up from your hotel at the established time and transfer you to the airport (driver only).
4 night Eco-Amazonia Lodge stay in Puerto Maldonado
This pre-extension takes place before the 7-night tour. Day 3 of the pre-extension corresponds to day 1 of the 7-night tour.

DAY 1: CUSCO - LIMA - PUERTO MALDONADO
Flight to Puerto Maldonado.
On arrival in Puerto Maldonado, Peru's biodiversity capital, you will be met at the airport. You'll begin your itinerary with a city tour by bus.
Next, you'll go to the port to take a motorboat and sail on the Madre de Dios River. Along the way, you'll enter a fascinating natural environment; with a little luck, you'll spot capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants and other animal species.
At the hotel, a delicious cocktail of tropical Amazonian fruits awaits you, before you are taken to your room (bungalow).
A delicious lunch (excluding drinks) awaits you in the welcoming dining room.
Cocha Caiman:
After lunch, you'll leave with your specialized guide for an excursion to Cocha Caimán, a small lagoon home to large numbers of black caimans (Melanosuchus niger) and spectacled caimans (Caiman crocodilus).
In the late afternoon, enjoy a spectacular Amazonian sunset, an experience full of color and intensity.
On your return to the hotel, a delicious dinner awaits you, and you can enjoy unforgettable moments in the well-stocked bar, complete with table games room.

DAY 2: PUERTO MALDONADO
The birds of paradise will sing to wake you up and as you enjoy breakfast.
Cocha Perdida:
After breakfast, you'll begin an adventure to the rainforest, and accompanied by a local guide, you'll hike through the deep forest to Cocha Perdida.
This is a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a wide variety of animals.
You can observe otters, caimans, turtles, sachavacas (tapirs), birds with multicolored plumage, the majestic jaguar and a variety of fish.
This area is unique and typical of the Ecoamazonía Ecological Reserve (Map of geographical location), which preserves it intact, with immense marshes and various "aguajales".
You'll then arrive at the extraordinary Amazon mirador, from where you can appreciate the immense, magical forest.
Afterwards, enjoy a pleasant canoe trip around the lake and return to the hotel for lunch.
Monkey Island:
In the afternoon, accompanied by your specialised guide, you'll visit Monkey Island. A unique site in the heart of the Madre de Dios River, just five minutes from the hotel.
During the excursion, you'll observe extraordinary landscapes with beautiful flora, home to a variety of monkey species in their natural habitat, such as the atel, capuchin, lion monkey, squirrel monkey and other animal species such as the coati and sloth bears and a wide variety of birds.
And finally, you'll complete your visit to the island by enjoying sunset and twilight in the forest.
Return to the hotel for dinner.

DAY 3: PUERTO MALDONADO - LIMA

Full day hike to the Devil's Balcony
Morning transfer from your hotel to the site of Sacsayhuaman. From here you will begin the hike towards Chacán, also known as Balcón del Diablo. The site is a perfect blend of nature and Inca architecture, with buildings blending perfectly into the rocks.
At the top of the cliff, you'll have a view of the whole site. The hike continues towards zone X, known for its mysterious rock labyrinths. After lunch en route, you will visit the Temple of the Moon, where you will learn more about Andean cosmovision and its link with the stars and the forces of nature. You will then explore the archaeological complex of Cusilluchayoc. The return to Cusco follows the route of the ancient Inca road that went to Antisuyo. You will enter the city via San Blas, a district known for its talented craftsmen, where the walk ends.

Full day tour to Humantay Lagoon
Enjoy one of the most spectacular trekking routes through the Andes to the Humantay lagoon (4180 meters above sea level).
Immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes, cultural richness and vast history of this region. You will be transferred from Cusco to Mollepata (1 hour and 20 minutes), then continue for one hour to Soraypampa (3900 meters above sea level).
Spot species like the condor or swallow of the Andes and see the imposing mountains of Salkantay and Humantay. From Soraypampa begins the climb of approximately two hours in the Humantay lagoon, here enjoy lunch on its banks. Then explore for an hour before heading tto Soraypampa for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, where a bus will be waiting to return to Cusco, where it will arrive around 19:00.

Half-day tour through the boardwalk of Barranco and Miraflores and gastronomic experience (minimum 2 people)
Start with a picturesque tour along the promenade, crossing through the bohemian district of Barranco and the modern district of Miraflores, passing by the Park of Love where you can admire a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean.
After the tour, arrive at a themed restaurant and participate in a cocktail demonstration class, learning how to prepare the famous pisco sour. Then, enjoy a cooking demonstration class, learning to prepare a delicious typical Peruvian dish. After both classes, savour a delightful lunch with a sea view. At the end of your tour, transfer back to your hotel.
Half-day in Barranco Park discovering the street Food in Lima (minimum 2 people)
In the bohemian district of Barranco, you will have the opportunity to taste the exquisite traditional Peruvian anticuchos, prepared with beef heart and seasoned with garlic, vinegar, cumin, and aji panca, a mild red pepper with a smoky flavor. Also, try the typical picarones, a fabulous dessert with a sweet, crispy, and warm taste, dipped in syrup. Return to your hotel.
Full day hike to Vinicunca (for minimum 2 people)
Depart from the hotel at 4:00 in the morning to head to Quesoyuni. On the way, visit Japura, a small Andean community, and have breakfast there. Hike to Kairawiri, the starting point for the impressive Seven Color Mountain.
Enjoy the natural spectacle and the imposing mountains that also color the landscape. After a 30 to 45-minute visit, head to Kairawiri for a quick lunch. Return by bus to Cusco and transfer to the hotel.
