Your Optional Excursions

Half Day Maras and Moray

Your Optional Excursions
Your half day tour from Cusco includes a visit of about an hour and a half of the terraces of Moray and salt mines of Maras. The archaeological remains of Moray are composed of a mysterious circular concentric terraces which, according to some scholars, would be an agricultural research centre. The higher outdoor terraces have higher temperatures and so the Incas could simulate the various ecological conditions of the empire. Maras is a surreal view. It is an impressive complex of salt marshes that dates back to the pre-Inca era. The enormous amounts of salt extracted have been used as a bargaining chip for the products of other parts of the empire.

Rainbow Mountains

Your Optional Excursions
Why not add an optional excursion to Vinicunca, also called Montaña de Siete Colores, Montaña de Colores or Rainbow Mountains. These mountains multi-coloured as a result of the weather and altitude in this region. See lavender, turquoise and terracotta peaks rolling over the horizon.

Departure at 4am to Quesoyuni. Visit Japura on the way, a small Andean community and have breakfast there. A hike to Kairawiri, starting point of the hike to the impressive 7-color Mountain. Enjoy the natural spectacle that you have in front of you and the imposing mountains that also fill the landscape of colours. After the 30 to 45 minute visit, go to Kairawiri for a packed lunch. Return by bus to Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

Magic Circuit + Dinner and Show

Your Optional Excursions
A modern system of fountains (certified as the largest in the world by the Guinness Record) built in the Exhibition Park that has a large number of people throughout the year, positioning itself as one of the new attractions of Lima. After the visit, a delicious dinner with traditional dance show.

Cooking in front of the sea

Your Optional Excursions
Beginning of a scenic route and along the picturesque coast through the bohemian district of Barranco and the modern district of Miraflores, passing through the Parque del Amor, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. After the walk, you will go to a theme restaurant and you can participate in a cocktail class to learn how to prepare the famous pisco sour . You will also participate in a cooking class to learn how to prepare an excellent dish typical of Peru. Then have lunch overlooking the sea and return to your hotel.

Full day in Palcoyo (the other mountain of the 7 colors)

Your Optional Excursions
You will arrive at the starting point of the hike, before climbing to the top of the impressive colorful mountain of Palcoyo.

Like the Mountain of 7 colors, also called Vinicunca, Palcoyo gets its color from minerals such as magnesium, calcium and iron that compose it and that have accumulated over millions of years and offer us today.

Balcon del Diablo

Your Optional Excursions
Morning transfer from your hotel to the Sacsayhuaman site. From here you will start the hike to Chacán, also known as Balcón del Diablo. This place presents a perfect harmony between nature and Inca architecture with buildings blending perfectly among the rocks. At the top of the cliff, you will have a view of the entire site. The hike continues to Zone X, known for its mysterious labyrinths of rock.
After lunch en route, you will visit the Temple of the Moon where you will learn more about the Andean cosmovision and its connection with the stars and the forces of nature. Then you will explore the archaeological complex of Cusilluchayoc. The return to Cusco is made following the route of the old Inca road that went to Antisuyo.
