Day 1: Arrive into Lima
Upon arrival at the airport, you will receive a transfer to your hotel. Overnight at a selected hotel in Lima.
Day 2: Lima
After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Lima. Your tour will start in downtown Lima, where you will visit the main square, where Lima was first founded as "The City of Kings," in 1535. At this time it was already known by the name of Lima when Peru proclaimed its independence from the Spanish Crown in 1821. There you may see the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace and the Lima Cathedral. You will then go to Saint Francis' Church and convent, which has an enviable collection of old books and an authentic network of catacombs open to the public.
Next, you will go to Pueblo Libre district to visit the Larco Museum, founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle en 1926. The museum, located inside a viceregal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid of the 7th century, houses the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver artefacts as well as pieces of erotic art. Overnight at a selected hotel in Lima. Tickets included: Saint Francis’ convent and Larco Museum.
Following breakfast, your transfer will pick you up from your hotel and will transfer you to Lima Airport. You will then catch a flight to Cusco where you will be met by your transfer which will take you to your hotel. You will be accompanied by a guide who will inform you about the attractions and services that the city has to offer.
Today you will participate in a walking tour starting at the Coricancha Temple, one of the most important buildings in the city. It was one of the most important centres of worship to the Sun God of the Incas that was converted into a convent after the arrival of the Spanish. Then visit the wonderful Cusco Cathedral, built between 1560 and 1664, and end the tour visiting the San Pedro market, a pantry of thousands of products from different areas of the region. Finally, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at selected hotel in Cusco. Tickets included: Coricancha temple and Cathedral.
Please note: The visit to the San Pedro market can be replaced by a visit to Casa Concha, an old colonial mansion that houses an impressive collection of Inca pieces from Machu Picchu.
After breakfast, take a Sacred Valley tour. Your tour will start by going to the Sacred Valley, where you will visit Awanakancha, a farm of South American camelids and textiles showroom, where local families show the entire traditional process of weaving and making garments. You will then visit the Pisac market, which has stands that exhibit and sell products manufactured by area residents. Beautiful alpaca textiles, musical instruments, paintings, carvings, necklaces and replicas of old Inca pieces are sure to catch your eye.
Next, have lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit Ollantaytambo, making a series of stops at points of interest. The town of Ollantaytambo is a typical example of Incan urban planning, whose present-day residents still live in accordance with their old traditions. Inca ruler Pachacuti conquered the town, destroyed it and built a new one, absorbing it as part of his empire. This town exhibits one of the most remarkable complexes of the Inca Empire. Following breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred from your hotel to the train station in Sacred Valley.
You will now embark on a tour of the world-famous Machu Picchu. Your tour begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes, arriving in approximately two hours. This town is also known as "Machu Picchu Pueblo" - the town of Machu Picchu - and is the last stop before entering the most important archaeological site in Peru. In Aguas Calientes, you can find a train station, a craft market, restaurants and hotels of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb it early.
After a short transfer by bus, reach Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca ruler Pachacuti. Machu Picchu, which means "Old Mountain", is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then have the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, head to the Aguas Calientes train station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo.

You will then depart from Lima, for a trip of approximately four hours along the Panamericana Sur Highway towards Paracas, a town located in the Ica region and province of Pisco. Paracas is a seaside resort in the form of a bay whose name means "sand rain" because here, winds carry sand and can reach a speed of approximately 32 km per hour.
Paracas has also been declared a regional reserve for migratory birds, and on this peninsula, it is possible to observe different ecosystems, the archaeological remains of the Paracas culture, the place where San Martin landed and the great diversity of marine life that exists in the area. Once in Paracas, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your own leisure to enjoy hotel facilities and explore the area. Overnight at selected hotel in Paracas.
Transfer to the small fishing port of Chaco, boarding point by boat towards the Ballestas Islands. It is a nature reserve with magnificent geological formations, an impressive marine fauna and remnants of the pre-Incan culture that dominated the desert and managed to set up a society in adverse conditions. The Ballestas Islands are populated by migratory birds, pelicans, sea lions, penguins of Humboldt and other species of the archipelago. During the journey, you will see intriguing lines drawn on the sand forming a candlestick.
Optional: Visit the National Reserve of Paracas.
Located just behind the city of Paracas, we will see the "Cathedral", the Red Beach and many fossils. The "Cathedral" is a rock formation that looks like a cathedral dome and has been formed by rain and wind over time. Red Beach is filled with small reddish stones that gave him his nickname. Fossil remains are found near the entrance to the reserve, in a small area where molluscan fossils can be found in excellent conservation conditions and yet millions of years old.
After the excursion, you can choose some excursions before taking the bus back to Lima. The bus departures from Paracas 16:05 and arrives in Lima 20:00 (approx) Upon arrival, a transport service will take you from the bus station to the hotel.

Optional: Peruvian Culinary Experiment (with private guide)
Start with a panoramic tour of the bohemian Barranco district and the modern district of Miraflores, passing by the park of love where you can admire a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. After the panoramic tour, arrive at a thematic restaurant and participate in a cocktail class by learning how to prepare the famous pisco sour. Afterwards, enjoy a cooking class, learn how to make a delicious typical Peruvian dish and after both classes, enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the sea. At the end of your visit, return to your hotel.
A transport service will take you from your hotel to the established time at the airport to take your flight to Arequipa. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Night at the selected hotel in Arequipa. Breakfast included.
Day 6: Arequipa
Today you will embark on an Arequipa City Tour. Your journey will start at the Plaza de Armas, one of the most beautiful in Peru, next to the magnificent Arequipa´s Cathedral built during the XVII century and rebuilt many times after several earthquakes. From there you will be transferred to the Santa Catalina Monastery, an authentic cloister built in 1579 whose little religious citadel is still in use today.
After that, visit the ´Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesús´ (1590), considered a classic example of the baroque local architecture that holds inside an exceptional collection of paintings and murals. To end the day, visit the districts of Yanahuara and Carmen Alto, to have a panoramic view of Arequipa´s countryside. Overnight at selected hotel in Arequipa. Tickets included: Convento Santa Catalina and Iglesia de la Compañía in Arequipa.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy a 2 day / 1 night Colca Canyon & Valley tour. Depart Arequipa after breakfast at the hotel, driving through the Yura district en route to the Colca Valley. Yura is characterised by a number of dramatic geographical features such as gullies, mountain ranges and canyons. Continue through the Pampa Cañahuas Reserve, an extensive plain populated by vicuñas, one of the four indigenous Andean camelids found all over Peru.
Cross through the pampas of Viscachani and Toccra, skirting the crater of the Chucura Volcano to reach the Los Andes scenic lookout in Patapampa, which is 4,800 meters above sea level. From here, you can see the various volcanoes that surround Arequipa. Lunch is in the picturesque town of Chivay with a transfer in the afternoon to your selected hotel in the Colca Valley. Breakfast at the hotel. Prepare for a day of high drama with a trip to the breathtaking Condor Cross lookout. Take a deep breath and appreciate the sheer vastness of the Colca Valley, which is one of the world's deepest canyons with a maximum depth of more than 4,160 meters – twice that of the Grand Canyon. The thrill of the experience is enhanced by the natural spectacle of huge condors flying over the canyon. Watch in awe as these graceful birds of prey glide over the canyon, patrolling it with military discipline. Descend to the valley floor to discover some of the rustic towns on the banks of the River Colca such as Chivay, Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma and Yanque, where quaint colonial churches are as much as part of the scenery as the peaks of the Andes. There are also stops at the scenic lookouts of Antahuilque and Choquetico, where you can admire majestic views of the valley.
After lunch, take the road for Puno on the western shore of Lake Titicaca. The route cuts through the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve and takes in the stunning ‘stone forests’ of Patahuasi. The landscapes and scenery could not be more forbidding but enchanting, with a combination of high plains, unusual rock formations and lagoons populated by cranes drying their wings in the icy wind above the water. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then visit the Uros Islands. You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Puno's lake port, from where you be transferred to the floating islands of the Uros. Uros are an ancestral society that inhabits a series of artificial islands built with totora, a reef that grows in the lake. The islands are built by weaving totoras in the places where they grow the thickest and form a natural layer. They build their totora houses over it and cook in the open air to prevent possible fires. After a one and a half-hour tour, you will return to Puno and your hotel. Day 10: Puno - Cusco
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the bus station. Travel through the jaw-dropping landscapes of the highland plateau, which are dotted by Andean hamlets and herds of grazing llamas and vicuñas. Stop en route at the archaeological site of Pukara, which dates from 200BC to 300AD, as well as in Raqchi to admire the ruins of an Inca temple built to worship Wiracocha, one of the most important Inca gods.
There is one more stop before Cusco at Andahuaylillas, a picturesque town famed for the beautiful 16th century Church of St Peter the Apostle. It boasts a gilded baroque interior and frescoes so delicate that it is known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of America’. Your Optional Excursions —
Rainbow Mountains
Departure at 4am to Quesoyuni. Visit Japura on the way, a small Andean community and have breakfast there. A hike to Kairawiri, starting point of the hike to the impressive 7-color Mountain. Enjoy the natural spectacle that you have in front of you and the imposing mountains that also fill the landscape of colours. After the 30 to 45 minute visit, go to Kairawiri for a packed lunch. Return by bus to Cusco and transfer to the hotel.
