Day 1: Lima

Meet and greet at Lima Airport and private transfer to your hotel in Lima. You will be assisted with your check-in at your hotel. Dinner is at your own leisure in Lima. Overnight at the hotel Arawi Miraflores Express in a Standard Room.

DAY 2: LIMA

 

After breakfast at the hotel, the day is yours to explore Lima at your leisure! Discover beautiful museums, lively cuisine, architecture, and pretty coloured streets.

 

The city's historical centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses a unique blend of monuments attributed to the talented craftsmen from the New World alongside the art of masters from the Old Continent and is well worth a visit.

 

Lunch and dinner are not included - giving you the opportunity to explore Lima's coolest dining spots and street food scene. Overnight at Arawi Miraflores Express Hotel in a Standard Room.

DAY 3: LIMA - CUSCO - SACRED VALLEY

 

After breakfast, transfer to Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. You will be assisted with your luggage registration at the airport to ensure a seamless journey. Your flight has an estimated duration of 1.5 hours.

 

Set off from Cusco in a private vehicle to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the local market and the archaeological site of Pisaq, one of the cities in the Sacred Valley built by Viceroy Francisco de Toledo on pre-Columbian foundations.

 

In the afternoon, visit the city and fortress of Ollantaytambo, which stands proudly on its Inca foundations. Lunch and dinner in the Sacred Valley are not included. Overnight at Hotel San Agustin Urubamba in a Standard Room.

DAY 4: SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU - SACRED VALLEY - CUSCO

 

After breakfast, meet your private transfer at your hotel which will take you to Ollantaytambo train station. Departure by train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu - Tourist Class. 

 

Live the mystical experience of a journey into the Inca Trail. Witness an incredible landscape that stretches between snow-capped peaks, imposing mountains and the winding river to Machu Picchu, until you enter an ethereal jungle that houses the famous Inca citadel.

Excursion to the citadel of Machu Picchu

This stone citadel is the emblematic monument in Peru, recognised by UNESCO. A local guide will accompany you during your excursion. Lunch is at your own leisure.

 

Return by train to Ollantaytambo - Tourist Class - followed by a private transfer from the train station to Cusco. Dinner is at your leisure in Cusco. Overnight at Taypikala Cusco Hotel in a Standard Room.

DAY 5: CUSCO

Breakfast is included, followed by a half-day private tour of Qoricancha with a local guide. The Qoricancha, "Golden Garden" in Quechua, or Temple of the Sun was built by the Incas and partially destroyed by the Spanish in the early years of the conquest. Visitors can still appreciate some walls and rooms that testify to the perfection of Inca building techniques (Imperial Inca).

 

Lunch is at your own leisure in Cusco followed by a free afternoon to explore your surroundings and find the perfect spot for dinner. Overnight at Taypikala Cusco Hotel in a Standard Room.

DAY 6: CUSCO

Begin your day with breakfast at your hotel to fuel up for a thrilling day discovering the lively city of Cusco. Lunch and dinner are at your own leisure.

 

Hop onto an optional excursion to make the most of your time and choose from a full-day Rainbow Mountain Trek, or a half-day private tour of Cusco's Four Ruins with mountain biking. Overnight at Taypikala Cusco Hotel in a Standard Room.

DAY 7: CUSCO - PUNO

After breakfast, meet your private transfer from your hotel to the bus station. Tourist transport from Cusco to Puno (this is a shared service). Head to Puno by tourist bus on an 11-hour drive through the Altiplano. On the way, visit a range of tourist sites:

 

The baroque church of Andahuaylillas, is also called the "Sistine Chapel of the Andes". Experience a gleaming example of the popular religious art of the Andes. A true jewel of Cusco's architecture, the nave is heavily decorated, and its magnificent ceiling is covered with gilding.

 

Next stop is Pukara, 108 km north of Puno. This is the most important ceremonial centre in the Andean Highlands. Its construction predates that of Tiwanacu and is characterised by a series of staggered platforms resembling a pyramid, called Kalasaya. On this site, the first vestiges of the Andean culture of the Altiplano were discovered. This village of ceramics is the birthplace of the famous Pucara toritos (bulls) adorning the Andean roofs as a protector of its inhabitants. 

 

Pause at Raqchi (121km from Cusco), also known as the "Temple of the God Wiracocha". This Inca temple of monumental size is divided into two parts, and in each of them visitors can appreciate the bases of 11 gigantic columns built in perfectly cut stones. Explore the "qolqas" or grain stores, the military and religious areas, the impressive walls and even Inca baths.

 

You may wish to select the private excursion to Puno from Cusco with a guide, at the next stage of the booking processs for an additional  fee.

 

On arrival in Puno, meet your driver for a private transfer from the bus station to your hotel. You will be assisted with your luggage and check in at the hotel. Dinner is at your leisure in the city of Puno. Overnight at Hotel Casona Plaza Puno in Standard Room.

DAY 8: PUNO

 

After breakfast, meet your private transfer from your hotel to the port for an exciting day trip to Lake Titicaca! Visit the floating islands of Uros and Taquile by speedboat on a shared basis with a guide.

 

Your first stop is at the Uros floating islands. The Uros community lives on more than 63 man-made islands, made from woven reeds. The Uros call themselves kotsuña, "the people by the lake". They have preserved certain traditions such as artisanal fishing, hunting wild birds, building reed rafts and weaving techniques.

 

Continue to Taquile, a natural island, where you'll learn about the daily life and customs of the lake's inhabitants. Admire their carefully chosen clothes and fabrics with symmetrical decorations and bright colours that represent different customs in the Andes.

 

Pause for lunch at a rustic inn run by Taquile residents, with an included tasting of trout caught in the lake. Return to Puno in the afternoon and meet your transfer at the port to be taken back to your hotel. Dinner is at your own leisure in Puno. Overnight at Hotel Casona Plaza Puno in a Standard Room.

DAY 9: PUNO - JULIACA - LIMA

You will be met at Lima airport and assisted with a private transfer to your hotel. Settle into your hotel before heading out to Puna for dinner (not included). Overnight at the Arawi Miraflores Express Hotel in a Standard Room.

DAY 10: LIMA - UK

DAY 10: LIMA - PUERTO MALDONADO - ECOAMAZONIA LODGE

Meet your transfer to Lima airport for your flight. You will be assisted with your luggage registration at the airport. Your domestic flight from Lima to Puerto Maldonado is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Upon your arrival in Puerto Maldonado, Peru's biodiversity capital, you will be met by your driver. Begin your new itinerary with a city tour by bus.

 

Next, head to the port to take a motorboat and cruise the Madre de Dios River. Explore a fascinating natural environment; with a bit of luck, you may observe capybaras, alligators, turtles, herons, cormorants and other species.

 

Once you reach the hotel, a delicious cocktail made of tropical fruits from the Amazon awaits you! You will be taken to your room (bungalow) to settle in before enjoying for delicious lunch in the cosy dining room.

 

After lunch, depart with a specialised guide for an excursion to Cocha Caimán, a small lagoon where there are many black caimans and spectacled caimans.

 

Return to the hotel for a delicious dinner. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 11: ECOAMAZONIA LODGE

Wake up and enjoy breakfast.  Hike into the depths of the forest, observe the flooded forest and a great variety of flora and fauna until you reach the majestic Apu Victor Lake. Marvel at the crystal clear water surrounded by huge swamps and giant trees.

 

Climb up to the magnificent Amazon viewpoint, and admire glorious panoramas of the lake while observing parrots, macaws, toucans, alligators and more. Return to the hotel for lunch. 

 

In the afternoon, accompanied by an expert guide, visit Monkey Island, just five minutes from the hotel. During the excursion, observe exceptional landscapes home to a variety of monkey species including capuchins, monkey squirrels, and other creatures like sloths. 

 

Finish your tour of the island, then return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 12: ECOAMAZONIA LODGE

Wake to a delicious breakfast before a new adventure in the jungle, hiking through the deep forest accompanied by a local guide to reach Cocha Perdida.

 

You may see otters, alligators, turtles, colourful birds, and more. Take a canoe ride on the lake, and return to the hotel for lunch. Spend the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight at the lodge.

DAY 13: ECOAMAZONIA LODGE - PUERTO MALDONADO - LIMA

Trek to Vinicuna (Rainbow Mountain)

Following the southern roads at the foot of Mount Ausangate, discover a surprising Rainbow Mountain (Vinicuna), whose summit is 5200 meters above sea level.

Leave from your hotel very early in the morning to go by bus to Checacupe and then Pitumarka. Take a short break, so you can do some shopping.

 

After breakfast, start a long day of walking with a magnificent view of Mount Ausangate. Cross impressive landscapes made of small lagoons.

 

Arrival at the top and make the most of your free time to enjoy the view and take pictures. After about 1 hour and a half of walking, and an energising lunch, travel to Cusco.

Discover the sites that once formed the entrance to Imperial Cusco.

Start by visiting Sacsayhuaman, which gives you a breathtaking view of the historic centre of the city. Go up to Qenqo, a set of stone constructions, tunnels and chambers dug into the hill. Visit the sites of Tambomachay and Puka Pukara.

 


Follow the paths to Yuncaypata. At the foot of the mountains that form the foothills of the Andes, you can begin your downhill mountain biking adventure. After a brief reminder of the safety instructions, set off.

 

Follow the path of the edge of the Kusikallanca Lagoon, with a great view over Cusco and the valley which leads to Puno.

 

For the last part of the descent, choose to follow the wide track that descends to the outskirts of the city, or pass by a more technical route.
Arrive in the Kcari Grande district, where you'll find your vehicle to return to your hotel.
