Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1: Arrive in Lima
A transport service and representative will meet you at the airport at the scheduled time to take you to your hotel in Lima. The Peruvian capital is a modern metropolis steeped in history and currently undergoing an exciting cultural and economic transformation.
Overnight stay in selected hotel in Lima.
Day 2: Lima
Use your free day for your own exploration or optional excursions: Optional visit with extra charge: Guided tour of the city and Larco Museum Start at the Larco Museum in the traditional Pueblo Libre neighbourhood, housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built over a pre-Columbian pyramid.
The museum has the most comprehensive collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver objects in the world. Then visit Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion given by the great conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jeronimo de Aliaga, one of his captains, in 1535. It is the only house from that time that has always belonged to the same family.
Continue with a panoramic tour of the colonial city centre, starting from and extending through the main square. You can admire the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire and marvel at Lima Cathedral. Built in the 16th century, this building required more than 80 years of work. After the visit, you will be transferred to the hotel.
Overnight stay in selected hotel in Lima with breakfast.
Day 3: Lima - Paracas
After breakfast at the hotel, a representative will pick you up and accompany you to the bus station to catch the bus from Lima to Paracas. After a four-hour drive, you will arrive at Pisco airport and enjoy a flight over the desert to observe the mysterious Nazca Lines.
The small town of Nazca would go unnoticed on the map if it weren't for the ancient geoglyphs etched into the sand that have given it worldwide fame. Flying over the desert, the lines contract into simple geometric patterns, then some of the swirls and zigzags begin to form more distinct shapes: a spider, a condor, a monkey, to name a few. Weather and airspace conditions permitting, also fly over the newly discovered drawings in Palpa. Continue your flight over mountains where millions of years old marine fossils have been discovered and then return to Pisco to complete your flying experience.
Back on ground, you will be transferred to the hotel in Paracas and have the afternoon at leisure.
Overnight stay in a selected hotel in Paracas with breakfast.
Day 4: Paracas - Ballestas Islands - Lima
Today, you'll head towards the Ballestas Islands to the El Chaco pier, ready for a boat tour.
The Ballestas are a group of rocky islands with beautiful geographical formations, just a few kilometres from the west coast of Peru. The islands are the perfect habitat for a variety of bird species and an eclectic mix of wildlife including seals, pelicans, sea lions and the endangered Humboldt penguin. Circle around the islands' dramatic cliffs and look out for large flocks of noisy sea lions relaxing on the rocks, birds stretching their wings and, if you're lucky, dolphins approaching your boat. Although you won't land on the islands, you can get up close to this impressive wildlife.
During your cruise you will also pass by the Candelabra of Paracas, a massive geoglyph dating back to around 200 BC, although the purpose and creator of this three-pronged sculpture remains a mystery. At the end of your boat tour, you will be transferred to the bus station for your return transfer to Lima.

Day 5: Lima - Flight to Cuzco
You will be transferred from your hotel to Lima airport to catch a flight to Cuzco.
Upon arrival in the city, you will be transferred to your selected hotel. Optional with surcharge: City tour in Cusco In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. The tour starts with the Santo Domingo Monastery, a large Renaissance-Baroque complex built over the Inca temple of Coricancha. It was one of the most important temples dedicated to the worship of the sun, and its foundations are still visible at the foot of the monastery. According to ancient chronicles, the temple was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature.
Next, visit the cathedral, the most imposing monument in the main square. Drive to the hills above Cusco to visit the remains of the Sacsayhuaman fortress, whose impressive ramparts offer stunning panoramic views of the city, and the ruins of the temple and amphitheatre of Qenqo, where the Incas probably practised agricultural rituals. Admire Qenqo and finally visit Puka Pukara ("red fortress" in Quechua), an Inca military complex perched on a prominent hill. You can still appreciate its dwellings, bathrooms, aqueducts, walls and towers. You will then return to your hotel.

Day 6: Cuzco - Machu Picchu - Cuzco
A transport service will pick you up and take you to Ollanta train station, where you'll board the train to Aguas Calientes, the closest town to Machu Picchu.
After a scenic ride through spectacular Andean landscapes, you will reach Aguas Calientes train station. There you will board a bus for a 25-minute ride to Machu Picchu. The "lost city of the Incas" is said to have been built in the 1450s by the Inca emperor Pachacuti as a resort, but a century later the city was abandoned after the Spanish conquest. The Spanish never found it, which spared its destruction. Instead, it was slowly swallowed up by the jungle, out of sight.
A guided tour explains the origins of this impressive citadel and presents its most important sights. Return to Aguas Calientes. Lunch included (lunch time may vary depending on the entrance to the citadel).
In the afternoon, transfer to Aguas Calientes train station and return by train to Ollanta station. From there you will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco.

Palm swamps are wetlands that provide habitat for many types of wildlife. In the afternoon, visit Monkey Island, just a few minutes from the lodge, guided by an experienced guide. Walking around the island, you can observe exceptional landscapes and lush flora that are home to a variety of monkeys such as the black spider monkey, capuchin monkeys, tamarins, squirrel monkeys and South American coatis, as well as many species of birds.
