DAY 2: MUSCAT

Wake to a delicious breakfast and start your day with a half-day city tour of the highlights of Muscat, Oman's charming port capital.

Visit the Great Mosque (please adhere to the dress code), the Muttrah Souk and the famous Fish Market. Take a stroll in the sunshine through the old town, and admire the colourful design of Al Alam Palace.

Continue to Bait Al Zubair Museum, and learn some of the rich histories of this country whose origins stretch back 100,000 years.

DAY 3: WAHIBA SANDS - WADI BANI KHALID

Continue your tour with a drive to Bidya, taking a moment to breathe deeply and enjoy the silence of the beautiful desert, where 200m high dunes rise up in shades of terracotta and gold.

Visit a traditional Bedouin house, and experience life in the vast desert expanse.

Next, visit Wadi Bani Khalid and enjoy a short walk to reach a paradise-like oasis. Plunge into the refreshing waters of the natural pools that have formed in the heart of the dry desert landscape.

Head out on the rugged coastal road in a chunky 4WD vehicle, catching glimpses of the shimmering blue waters of the Gulf of Oman and its pristine silky-white sand beaches.

Spy flamingos and eagles drinking from the river in the small fishing village of Quriyat, and visit the picturesque Wadi Arabayeen, where deep pools of water rest among the luscious fronded date palms. 

Continue to the Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater glinting with turquoise water. Look out for fleet-footed gazelles leaping across the landscape and, if the weather is clear and sunny, you may even spot sharks basking in the deep blue waters of the sea.
