Your Destinations

Bergen

Bergen is Norway’s second largest city and the world’s only city surrounded by 7 mountains and 7 fjords. Bergen is, with good reason, called the Gateway to the Fjords due to its close proximity to the Norwegian fjords. This makes the city the perfect starting point for exploring the fjord region.

Flåm

Flåm is a village in southwestern Norway, in an area known for its fjords and spectacular beauty. The dramatic Stegastein viewing platform juts out high above the Aurlandsfjord. South of Flåm Harbor, the 17th-century wooden Flåm Church lies in the valley. The Flåm Railway offers valley and waterfall views as it climbs to a station on the Hardangervidda plateau.

Oslo

If you love the outdoors, exploring Norway’s capital Oslo and all it has to offer is a definite must. With forests and fjords, you are bound to love this city. Oslo offers many attractions, most of them are located within walking distance of each other in Oslo’s compact city centre, while the famous museums on the Bygdøy peninsula area are easy to reach by public transportation. Top attractions in Oslo include the Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park, the Opera House, Holmenkollen Ski Jump and the Viking Ship Museum!

Stockholm

Stockholm’s good looks and fashion sense could almost be intimidating. But this city is an accessible beauty, as easy to explore as it is to love. Though spread across 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges, it is compact and walkable. Each neighbourhood has a distinct character, yet they’re so close together you can easily spend time in several areas. In each, you'll find trend-setting design, inventive cuisine, unbeatable museums, great shopping, pretty parks and loads of atmosphere. The old town, Gamla Stan, is one of Europe’s most arresting historic hubs, all storybook buildings, imposing palaces and razor-thin cobblestone streets. Just a few metres from this time capsule, the modern city centre shines like the pages of a magazine. Downtown is a catwalk, showroom and test kitchen. Everything here is the very latest thing.

Helsinki

Finland's capital is an eclectic mix of East and West, set on a peninsula in the Gulf of Finland. A neo-classical gem with an art nouveau quarter, laced with Alvar Aalto's spectacular modern architecture. Discover smart pavement cafés on Esplanade, gourmet restaurants at a fraction of London prices, and concerts and ballet at Finlandia Hall. Visit the squares and cathedrals that make up the older aspects of this city, while making sure not to miss out on the legendary contemporary design scene. The city's gourmet side is also flourishing, with new gastro eateries offering locally sourced tasting menus popping up at dizzying speed.

St Petersburg

Often described as the Venice of the North, St Petersburg is a city defined by water. The mighty Neva River empties into the Gulf of Finland near the Fortress of Peter & Paul – the final resting place of the Tsars – and canals snake through the backstreets, passing stately townhouses. Explore this enchanting city and discover the many hidden treasures! The centuries have been kind to the former capital of the Russian Empire – St Petersburg looks as grand today as when Peter the Great laid the foundation stones in 1703. From his cabin on Petrogradskaya Storona, the Russian emperor invited Europe's leading architects to fill the streets with extravagant palaces and elegant Baroque cathedrals.

Tallinn

Estonia's capital has been undergoing an elegant restoration in recent years. It is a quaint, cultural and medieval town, overlooked by the crenellated walls of Toompea Castle and the domed St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. A one-time Hanseatic port, the Old Town is a jumble of gable-roofed merchant's houses, narrow cobbled streets, concealed courtyards and fortified buildings. Surrounded by the old city wall and interspersed with watchtowers, St Catherine's Passage with its craft workshops comes highly recommended; the viewing platform at Kohtuotsa offers staggering views of the Old Town's rooftops and towers contrasted against the modern city skyline.

City's grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tell her 700 year-old history beautifully. Overnight stay and dinner on board COSTA MAGICA.

Day 8: Costa Magica - Stockholm (Full Board)

Day 9: Costa Magica - Helsinki (Full Board)
Today you will arrive in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, also known as The Daughter of the Baltic. You can decide to conclude the city tour back on the boat for lunch (transfer is included) or to stay a little longer in the city centre and then return to the boat on your own, but remember to be back to the ship on time for the departure. Overnight stay and dinner on board COSTA MAGICA.

Today you will arrive in St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg is Russia's second-largest city after Moscow, and throughout history, it has been known by a few different names. Today you will enjoy a full day city tour with a local guide, including visits of the Hermitage, St. Isaak Cathedral, the Church of the Savior on Blood, a lunch in a local restaurant and a canal boat tour. Tonight the ship will stay docked in St. Petersburg. Overnight stay and dinner on board COSTA MAGICA.

Day 11: Costa Magica - St. Petersburg (Full Board)
Today begins your second day of visits in St. Petersburg. During the tour you will admire the Peter and Paul Fortress & Cathedral that is the first construction of St. Petersburg put up by Peter the Great in 1703 to provide protection from the Swedes. It lost its military significance before it was completed. Its guns never saw any action and were put to use as a flood -warning signal, and the fortress housed apolitical prison for two hundred years. After a lunch in a local restaurant, you will visit also the spectacular Peterhof. Set in magnificent gardens, Peterhof is reminiscent of Versailles and was only used by royalty for State occasions. The pendulous chandeliers, paintings are originals; as they were fortunately removed before the German occupation. The gardens are dotted with the fountains, charming pavilions and summerhouses, including the Monplaisir, Peter's original villa with bright and airy galleries facing the sea. Overnight stay and dinner on board COSTA MAGICA.
Day 12: Costa Magica - Tallinn (Full Board) (arrival at 09:00 – departure at 17:00)
Arrival in Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia. Tallinn represents a medieval enclave perched on top of a hill looking overlooking the Baltics. Divided in two very distinctive parts: Toompea hill and The lower town, centered on Raekoja plats (the Town Hall Square) is still surrounded by a 2.5 km-fortified wall. Through the itinerary, you will admire the Orthodox Cathedral Alexander Nevsky and the Toompea castle (home to the Estonian Parliament), The City Hall Square, the house of the Brotherhood of Blackheads, St Olaf and Niguliste churches. Overnight stay and dinner on board COSTA MAGICA.
