Visit Polaria, the world’s northernmost aquarium, wander the city centre’s shops and cafés, including the Mack Brewery, the popular Ølhallen pub, and trendy coffee spots serving artful cinnamon buns. Across the fjord, the iconic Arctic Cathedral, with its striking stained-glass mosaic, comes into view from the pier.
