We encourage you to visit the Space Centre and the Whale Museum, as well as other attractions on the island. Flight inclusive options come with car hire, so we encourage you explore the tiny villages of the area and get a flair for local culture. Andenes has a handful of delightful cafes and restaurants, as well as shops, for you to visit during your stay.
As the closest place to the continental shelf in Norway and a short boat ride from a deep-sea canyon, Andenes is the perfect spot to view whales from and guarantees a very high certainty of seeing a whale on a boating trip.
Your Itinerary —
Guests booking flight inclusive offers will arrive at Evenes Airport. They will then pick up their car from the Airport Terminal and make their way to Andenes. Guests booking accommodation only will arrive at either Evenes Airport or Andenes Airport. The Lofoten islands and the Vesterålen area are still hidden gems from commercial tourism, offering beautiful landscapes and typical Norwegian charm. Arrive at Andenes, book into the hotel and spend the first night relaxing.

DAY 2 - Whale Safari
Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel. Next, go to the Whale Watch Centre. After a tour of the museum, where you'll learn fascinating facts about these marine mammals, depart by boat for a 2 to 4 hour safari to see the whales yourself. Andenes is one of the few places in the world where whales are observable all year, due to an abundance of plankton, cool climate and favourable sea currents.
If you are lucky, you will see humpback whales, white-flanked dolphins, pilot whales, orcas and even sperm whales. Be sure to keep your eye out for beautiful birds in this area, including the puffins with their brightly coloured beaks.

Today, an unforgettable adventure awaits you: meeting the orcas. You will be equipped with special cold wetsuits, masks and snorkels before setting out to see accompanied by an expert guide who will be able to spot families of these animals. Orcas flock the region between January and March, giving you a high chance of spotting them.
Once you are near orcas, the guide will give you safety instructions before you plunge into the water. Once you dip your head into the water, you'll start to hear the orcas communicate through echolocation. You will also be able to see them feeding on herrings and other fish: meal time is the perfect time to approach these beautiful beasts without danger.

DAY 4 - Departure

After these two incredible days alongside these majestic animals, it's time to leave Norway.
Guests booking flight inclusive options will drive their car to Evenes Airport, drop off the car at the airport terminal and make themselves ready for the flight back home. Guests booking accommodation only options will make their way home according to their plans.
