DAY 1: ARRIVE IN KATHMANDU

Welcome to Kathmandu – the capital and largest city of Nepal, a landlocked country located in South Asia. It is situated in the Kathmandu Valley in the central part of Nepal, surrounded by hills and mountains, including the Himalayas. Kathmandu is home to several iconic landmarks, including Swayambhunath Stupa (also known as the Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Durbar Square among others.

Today, stroll to Asan, an ancient local market in central Kathmandu, famous both for its amazing temples and ancient buildings, as well as for the trinkets, spices, and clothes that can be found there. This market has a long history, dating back to when Kathmandu was an important hub on the trade route between India and Tibet.

  • Transfer to the hotel where you can check in at 2pm
  • Visit Asan (an ancient local market in Kathmandu)
  • Night at the hotel of the chosen category

DAY 2: KATHMANDU

Situated on the banks of the Baghmati River, about 8 km from the city, Pashupatinath is one of the holiest and oldest Hindu shrines. The existence of the Pashupatinath temple dates back to 400 CE. The ornately decorated pagoda houses the sacred linga (sacred symbol of Lord Shiva). Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world come to pay homage to this temple also known as the 'Temple of Living Beings'.

Boudhanath is the Tibetan centre of Nepalese culture and has the largest stupa in South Asia. Today, Boudhanath is bustling with the Tibetan population, busy with carpet making, trade and prayers in the different monasteries belonging to the different communities of Tibetan Buddhism.

Today you'll experience Tibetan singing bowls at a local boutique specializing in sound therapy using these handcrafted instruments. The vibrations of the bowls are said to cure headaches, back pain, stress and even insomnia. The sound healing session lasts less than 5 minutes and is free.

  • During jungle safaris, you will be accompanied by our expert naturalists who will advise you
  • The government has started construction on the road expansion from Naubise to Mugling Stretch (about 80 km). The ongoing works result in slow traffic and an uncomfortable ride due to bumpy roads at many points along the route and groups reach their destination hours late.
