Your Itinerary —
During their tour, our members will follow the itineraries as seen below.
7-Night Itinerary
Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative at the airport and will be transferred to your hotel. After your arrival at the hotel, check-in, relax and then head out to explore Kathmandu. The rest of the day will be at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will enjoy a half day panoramic tour of the city, taking you to some of the most visited attractions that Kathmandu has to offer. Your first stop will be Durbar Square, the former Royal Residential neighbourhood, you'll then visit Rana Palace, called Singha Durbar. Marvel at Hanuman Dhoka, the imposing gateway to the Royal Palace with its statue of the "monkey god". You will then visit the temple house of the Kumari, the goddess-girl considered a living goddess. The tour will end at the great stupa of Swayambunath, where you'll see Buddha's eyes painted on its four sides. Following the tour, you'll go back to the hotel and have the rest of the day free to enjoy at your own leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll take a full day guided tour of the city and its surrounding sites. Your first stop is the Boudhanath Stupa - the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world. It is built on a flat surface on several levels of terraces and is painted in pastel colours and adorned with prayer flags. It is defined in a Mandala design. A total of 108 images of Buddha and 147 insertions of prayer wheels adorn the base of the huge circular building. The colony of Boudhanath has the largest community of Tibetans - twelve thousand in total.
Afterwards, visit the temple of Pashupatinath - one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world and one of the top five pilgrimage sites for Hindus. Pashupatinath is the reincarnation of Shiva in his most benevolent form as a shepherd of fertility, so there are no animal sacrifices in this temple, only fruits, flowers and vermilion. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River and for Hindus, being cremated in Pashupatinath means a direct passage to paradise. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will depart the hotel to be transferred to Pokhara, which is located 200 km away, tucked into a quiet valley behind the powerful Himalayan chain of Annapurna. Pokhara is also known as the vacationer's paradise. While Kathmandu offers its medieval monuments and historic palaces, Pokhara leans more towards the natural side of life. Stretching into the Western Himalaya range, this city is located 200km west of Kathmandu. Mule trains travel through the city centre, as they did for centuries, carrying food and other goods to remote Himalayan villages and to the Tibetan border as modern ultra-light aircrafts buzz and paragliders soar through the sky. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you'll jhave the chance to take a boat ride on the beautiful Lake Phewa. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, depart for Chiwan which is approximately 150 km away. Here there are more than 43 species of mammals and more than 450 species of birds in the park, although it is especially known for its rhinoceros, tigers and the gharial crocodiles. Other species found here include gaur, wild elephant, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, pangolin, Ganges dolphin, lizards and the python. Upon arrival, a naturalist will welcome you with an informational talk. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6: Chitwan
Wake up early for breakfast then observe wildlife in the National Park. It's the best time of the day to see the animals as you pass silently through the dewy grass - the perfect habitat for rhinos, tigers and other wildlife. After lunch, you'll go for a safari in the park and enjoy viewing the superb scenery and wildlife that surrounds you. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, return to Kathmandu and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 8: Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and take a transfer to Kathmandu International Airport to enjoy your return flight home.
9-Night Itinerary
Day 8: Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll get to spend the rest of the day exploring the city at your own will. Uncover its many monuments and sights, or even talk to your hotel reception to venture a bit further afield. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Kathmandu – Nagarkot – Kathmandu
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Nagarkot village, driving through the verdant and awe-inspiring of the Kathmandu valley along the way. With some luck, you'll be be able to see the mighty mountains of Mount Everest. In Nagarkot, you'll have free time at your own leisure. We suggest that you try to organise locally an Everest flight - a sparkling clear journey across the world’s highest peaks, Mt. Everest - world’s highest peak (8848 m). At the scheduled time, take your transfer back to the hotel in Kathmandu. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu
After breakfast, check-out of the hotel and take a transfer to Kathmandu International Airport to enjoy your return flight home.
