Day 01 - ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU

Day 02 -BHAKTAPUR
Drive to Changu Narayn and short easy hike to Telkot

After breakfast, board your vehicle and drive towards Changu Narayan.
Changu Narayan Temple is the oldest temple in the valley, located 22 km from Kathmandu and a 25 minute drive from Bhaktapur town. The original temple was built in the 4th century during the time of the Lichhavi rulers and is perched on a hill overlooking the nearby town. Much of it was rebuilt in the 18th century.
Later, enjoy a walk from Changunarayan to Telkot. The walk follows the ridge with a breathtaking view of the valley on the right and the Himalayas on the left side [2-3 hours of easy walking, no real difficulties].
Bhaktapur, literally known as the 'City of Devotees', is renowned for its elegant art, fabulous culture, colourful festivals, traditional dances and typical Newari lifestyle. Explore the Royal Palace, the Golden Gate and the 55-window palace entrance, known as the most important work of art in Nepal. Afterwards, visit the highest temple in the Kathmandu Valley, Nyatapola Temple.

Day 03 - BHAKTAPUR - NAMOBUDDHA

After breakfast, drive to the small village of Namo Buddha. Its small size conceals its enormous importance to Buddhists and is an interesting place to visit to escape Kathmandu for a few days.

After breakfast, drive to Panauti or hike to Panauti, which takes about 3 to 4 hours, depending on what you want to do.
The village of Panauti is located in a peaceful valley about six kilometres south of Banepa. It has a number of interesting temples, one of which is perhaps the oldest in Nepal.
Get closer to the authentic lifestyle of the Nepalese people, meeting the villagers of Panauti and breathe in the fresh air of the lush Panauti Valley.

As you will be staying in a local house, it is important to know that your stay will not be like a hotel. The facilities are basic but comfortable, and you will live like the host families. This is the magic of the homestay experience! Remember that you are in the host family for an authentic Nepali experience, not for luxury and comfort.
You will also get a taste of the local produce. Our host families only offer Nepali food, but your hosts will be happy to cater for any dietary requirements (vegetarian/vegan etc).
The homestay promises many unique stories and memories. You will always remember wearing traditional Nepali dress, cooking and eating local recipes and laughing with your host family. You may even have the chance to plant rice in the fields with your host family, pick fruits and vegetables from their garden or learn Nepali words.
Day 05 - PANAUTI - KATHMANDU

Buddhanath Stupa: One of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. It is built on a flat surface on different levels of terraces and is painted in pastel with prayer flags. It is defined in a Mandala design. A total of 108 Buddha images and 147 sets of prayer wheels adorn the base of the vast circular building. The Buddhanath settlement has the largest community of Tibetans - twelve thousand in total.
Pashupatinath Temple: This is one of the most incredible Hindu temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Located five kilometres east of the Bagmati River, Lord Shiva's Pashupatinath Temple, with its two-tiered golden roof and silver gates, is famous for its superb architecture. It is an annual pilgrimage centre on Maha Shivaratri day. It is a quiet and peaceful place to see the largest religious temple in the world. The entrance to the main temple is only allowed for Hindus, but visitors can clearly see the temple and its activities inside from the eastern bank of the Bagamati River

Afternoon free in Thamel for shopping and other activities.

After breakfast, board the vehicle and head to Makhahal Temple. Start walking in the old Ason marekt and then head to Kathmandu Durbar Squar. This is the complex of many temples, pagodas and courtyards, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, which once housed the Malla kings of Kathmandu.

After breakfast, and depending on the flight schedule, you will be taken to the airport to catch your return flight.
