Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu
Touchdown in Nepal and head to the terminal exit, where your friendly driver will be waiting for you, ready to take you to your hotel.
Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, exploring the ancient history and culture of this spiritual city. Built by the daughter of Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century, Kathmandu has been the capital of many dynasties and is still home to Hindu palaces, temples and statues. Night at Hotel Utse with breakfast included.
DAY 2 : KATHMANDU
Start the day with a visit to the Pashupatinath site, the most important Hindu temple in Nepal. Next, head to Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the centre of Tibetan culture in Nepal. The 36-metre high Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest Stupas in South Asia. Finally, climb to the dome of Swayambunath Temple, also known as Monkey temple, that watches over the royal city. Night at Utse Hotel with breakfast included.
DAY 3 : KATHMANDU - POKHARA
Enjoy the ease of a private transfer from Kathmandu to Pokhara, where the old road twists and turns through rugged mountains, pretty villages and temples, and beautiful scenery. Climb up to the World Peace Pagoda, perched on a hill and with lovely panoramic views of the Annapurna range and Lake Phewa. Night at the Utsab Himalaya Hotel with breakfast included.
Day 4 : Transfer to Bas Kharka
Elevation gain : + 650 m. Estimated walking time : 3 hours
Your driver will take you to Galeshwor, the starting point of your trek. Head out into the green lowland forest, between orange trees dotted along the trail and in the surrounding hills of Bas Kharka. Visit the village of the Magar group, who will welcome you warmly. Overnight stay with locals.
DAY 5 : BAS KHARKA - NANGI
Elevation gain : + 850 m. Estimated walking time : 5 hours and 30 minutes
Start the second stage of your trek with an early morning climb as you gradually head towards the village of Danda Kaske. Pause for lunch with the locals and a fantastic view over the valleys. Arrive at the hamlet of Nangi, where you can watch the villagers making paper from local plants and learn about the various development projects carried out by the inhabitants. Overnight stay with locals.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before you head out on the trail to Mohare Danda. Enter a forest of pine and brightly coloured rhododendrons, and admire the endless green hills as you emerge from the trees. Enjoy a picnic break amidst the tall grass and mountains before continuing to Mohare Danda, where there are breathtaking view of the Annapurna range. Spot Machapuchare, the fishtail mountain, and get a close-up view of Dhaulagiri. Have dinner in the warmth of the lodge's large community room, around the cosy stove. Night at the lodge.
Day 7 : Mohare Danda - Tilkot
Elevation gain : - 700 m. Estimated walking time : 5 hours and 30 minutes
Wake up early to see the sun rise over the Annapurna range. Sip a toasty hot drink and enjoy breakfast as you gaze out at panoramic views of the highest mountains in the world; Annapurna II, Dhaulagiri, and Nilgiri. Continue your trek past locals and workers, and look out for the colourful blue houses of the village of Tilkot, perched on a hill in the distance. Overnight stay with locals.
DAY 8 : TILKOT - TIPLING - POKHARA
Elevation gain : - 1500 m. Estimated walking time : 2 hours and 30 minutes
The last stage of your Himalayan trek is a descent to the village of Tipling. Admire a spectacular view of the Kali Ghandaki River below, flowing beside the border with Tibet. At the end of your walk, enjoy a private transfer to the town of Pokhara and relax at your comfortable boutique hotel. Night at Utsab Himalaya Hotel with breakfast included.
DAY 9 : POKHARA - KATHMANDU
DAY 10 : KATHMANDU
Take time to explore the city at your leisure, strolling the historic districts, admiring the local handicrafts and souvenirs at Thamel shopping district, and sampling the delicious Newar cuisine. Venture out further and take a taxi to explore the royal city of Bhaktapur and its historic Durbar Square, and the artisan streets of Timi. Night at Utse Hotel with breakfast included.
DAY 11 : DEPARTURE
Your driver will take you to the airport, ready for your flight home after an unforgettable tour in Nepal.
