Your Itinerary —
Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative at the airport. Later you will be transferred to your hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in and enjoy time to see the city at your own leisure. Later in the evening, enjoy dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with a culture show at a local restaurant. Later, you will head back to the hotel. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu
Early in the morning, enjoy tea and coffee and start your tour. You will take a morning heritage walk starting at Teku and ending at Kathmandu’s Durbar Square. The trail passes through local markets and temples to Old Kathmandu city and provides plenty of opportunities for photo stops. On this heritage walk, you will cover almost 6km of the city, and be will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. After Patan, visit the Tibetan Buddhist Stupa of Bouddhanath. Bouddhanath is one of the largest stupas in south-east Asia (45 minutes walking tour). In the evening visit the Pashupatinath Temple to witness the Aarti Ceremony on the banks of the river Bagmati (Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple premises - 1hr walking tour). Dinner & overnight at hotel.
This morning you can take an optional early dawn flight to view the majestic Himalayan Range including Mt. Everest (8848m - 60-minute flight). After breakfast, board your vehicle and drive to Patan city. Along with the fascinating Nepalese architecture, you can also witness master craftsmen busy at work making wooden masks, impressive golden statue of god and goddess, etc. (3 hrs walking tour).
Bhaktapur still retains its medieval essence, with centuries-old architecture and the lifestyle of the people to complement this architecture. Among other things, here you will visit a wood-craft centre, paper factory and a pottery centre (2.5 hrs walking tour). Dinner & overnight at the hotel at Bhaktapur.
Day 4: Bhaktapur – Changunarayan – Telkot
After breakfast drive to Changu Narayan (6 km / 30 Min). Renowned to be the oldest temple in Nepal, Changunarayan Temple has beautiful, intricate and well-preserved architecture and the temple is surrounded by impressive stone carvings. Whilst here, you will get to see local people worshipping at the temple (1 hr walking tour). Afterwards, you have the option to visit a local wood carving workshop.
Later enjoy a hike from Changunarayan to Telkot. The walk follows the saddle of a ridge with great views of the valley on the right-hand side and the Himalayas on the left-hand side (2-3 hrs hike). On your return to Bhaktapur, visit a local school and enjoy free time to explore around. Dinner at a local house with the family or at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Chitwan, stopping at the scenic village of Kurintar en route. Visit the village and take a walk around to see the village lifestyle. Continue your drive and head to Nepal’s famous Jungle Lodge at the Chitwan National Park. The park offers the richest and most spectacular wildlife sightseeing in Asia. Cruise deep into the dense jungle to face the elusive Bengal tigers and single-horned rhinos. The evening will be at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Chitwan
You will receive an early morning wakeup call with tea and coffee and then proceed with a host of jungle activities. Possible jungle activities in Chitwan include Elephant safari, canoeing, a visit to the Elephant breeding centre, jeep drive and jungle walk. In the afternoon, visit a nearby village of the local people known as the “Tharus”. Get a close insight into the lifestyle of this hardworking community. In the evening, enjoy a Tharu cultural dance show. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Chitwan – Pokhara (168 km / 4-5 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Pokhara. In the evening, visit the Peace Pagoda. This Pagoda overlooks Phewa Lake, Pokhara City and provides great views of mountains; as such it is a great spot for photographers. Besides being an impressive sight in itself, the shrine is a vantage point which offers spectacular views of the Annapurna Range, Phewa Lake and Pokhara city (2 hrs hike). Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Today you will head out before daybreak to Sarangkot to watch the glorious sunrise over the Himalayas. Afterwards, return to the hotel for breakfast; afterwards, enjoy a tour of Pokhara city. Visit the Seti gorge, Davis Falls, a Tibetan Refugee Camp for Tibetan Carpet and the Old Bazaar where you can witness how traditional utensils are hammered out of sheets of brass. You will then visit the International Mountain Museum. In the evening, enjoy a boat ride at Phewa Lake with the Mt. Fishtail in the background. Take a tour of Barahi Temple situated on a small island in the lake. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Pokhara – Kathmandu
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then start driving back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival check into your hotel and spend the rest of the time at leisure until dinner. Overnight at your hotel.
Day 10: Leave Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your international flight home back to the UK.
