Your Tour Itinerary —
During your tour, you will follow the itinerary as seen below.
Welcome to Yangon! Upon your arrival at Yangon International Airport, your guide will transfer you to your hotel. Check-in to your hotel after 2pm and enjoy a free welcome drink at your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Yangon - Bagan (Breakfast Included)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport of Yangon, then flight to Bagan. This is one of the world's most remarkable archaeological sites, with 2,000 temples and pagodas each with their own fascinating story. Bagan is an ancient city that was the capital of the prosperous Bagan empire that controlled most of present day Burma. At the height of empire’s power between the 11th and 13th century more than 10,000 temples and pagodas were built. Transfer to the hotel and installation in your rooms. Check in time after 2pm. In the evening, you will visit the Shwezigon Pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa, then you will continue to “ Nan Myint Tower “ which you can admire the sunset. Overnight at the hotel.
Discover Old Bagan, New Bagan and Nyaung Oo by E-BIKE, a small electric scooter, one of the most enjoyable ways to visit Bagan. You will start sightseeing with the elegant Htilominlo Temple, renowned for its fine plaster sculptures and glazed stoneware decorations. This great temple was built by King Htilominlo in 1218. The temple was damaged in the 1975 earthquake and was later renovated. Then visit the Shwegugyi Temple, also known as the Great Golden Cave, an example of Bagan architecture in the middle ages. In the evening, you will visit the Shwezigon Pagoda and its magnificent golden stupa, then you will continue to the highest temple of Bagan: Thatbyinyu where your horse carriage driver will be waiting for you. You will travel by carriage along ancient temples. (2 passengers per carriage). The tour will end at East Ohtain Taung from which you can admire the sunset.Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Bagan - Opa - Kalaw
You will take a scenic drive to Kalaw via the Mount Popa. On the road, you will visit a small factory of sweets and palm alcohol. You will have the chance to taste some of their local handmade products.You will walk through these plantations of palm trees and you will see the farmers skillfully climb up the palm trees in order to harvest fruits. You will drive off to Mount Popa, the flower mountain. The Mount Popa is an extinct volcano at 1,520 m above sea level. It became the spiritual home of the colorful ‘nat’ (pre-buddhist).The main attraction is not the monastery of Mount Popa itself (with more than 800 steps under the sun, only a few tourists have the courage to climb up), it is the small museum devoted to the Nats. But, if you have the courage to the mount your reward will be the superb view of the surrounding Burmese countryside. You’ll continue your route to Kalaw. On arrival, settle down at the hotel and relax. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. High up in western Shan State, Kalaw is a former British hill station with a laid-back atmosphere, refreshing climate, and scenic views. Many of Kalaw’s original colonial-era buildings remain. Then, you will be chauffeured to Pindaya. Pindaya is located at 1600 meters above sea level, at the foot of a lake surrounded by mountains. Upon your arrival at Pindaya, you'll get a detailed look at the making of the famous Shan paper and beautiful Burmese umbrellas at a local umbrella factory. Continue the day by visiting the Pindaya caves, where you will discover more than 8,000 Buddha images made of alabaster, teak, marble, brick and cement, gilded or painted white and some were carved from the rock. Then, you’ll be transferred to Nyaung Shwe jetty and take a private pirogue to reach your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Inle Lake
Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a full day excursion on the lake. Board your traditional motorized pirogue. You will pass through villages built on stilts over the lake, inhabited by the local Intha people. You can observe the unique one-leg rowing of Intha People who live in bamboo stilt houses in the waters. Then, enjoy Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery, which houses dozens of Shan Buddha Images, but is more famous for its unique ‘jumping cats’ that jump through hoops in the air! Next, you will visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, famous for the 800 years old Five Buddha images which are covered in gold leaf. Then you can explore the local crafts at the weaving village of Inpawkhone and at the cheroot factory where they make the Burmese cigars by hand. Return to your hotel by motorized pirogue. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. You’ll be transferred to Heho airport for your flight to Yangon. In the afternoon, visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (former Scott’s Market), where shopper’s favorite you can browse through the wide selection of Myanmar handicrafts and other goods. (Note: Market is closed on Mondays and public holidays). Free time for a last shopping. Late in the afternoon, you will visit the Shwedagon Pagoda one of the wonders of the world. Enjoy watching the breathtaking views of the golden stupa. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 : Yangon - Departure (Breakfast Included)
After breakfast at the hotel you will have a free day until you transfer to Yangon Airport for your departure flight back to the UK.
Optional Nyaung Phee Island Extension —
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight to Kaw Thaung. Kaw Thaung (known in colonial times as Victoria Point), is Myanmar southern most town. You will transfer to Myo Ma Jetty, and board a speed boat to Nyaung Oo Phee Island for 1 and half hours. ( Boat departure time – 14h ) Upon arrival, free and leisure at the hotel on the Island. BBQ Dinner on the beach. Overnight at hotel on Nyaung Oo Phee Island.
Day 9, 10, 11 : Nyaung Oo Phee Island
Breakfast at Island’s restaurant. Free and leisure at the hotel on the Island. Lunch at Island’s restaurant. You can join Snorkeling tours to discover other islands and experience the unexplored underwater world. Experienced divers will accompany the snorkeling travelers. BBQ Dinner on the beach. Overnight at hotel on Nyaung Oo Phee Island.
Day 12: Nyaung Phee Island – Kaw Thaung
Breakfast at Island’s restaurant. Before check out and lunch, is your free time for leisure or taking photo memory with beautiful beach. Lunch at Island’s restaurant. Depart from island and back to Kaw Thaung. (Boat departure time – 13h30) Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Kaw Thaung - Yangon
Breakfast at hotel. Some leisure time in the morning. Check out from the hotel and Lunch at hotel. Then transfer to Kawthaung airport directly and fly back to Yangon. Overnight in Yangon
Day 14 : Yangon - Depart
Breakfast at the hotel. Free Day. Tranfer to Yangon airport. Given the traffic jams in Yangon it is necessary to plan at least 2h to rally the city center and the airport and it is necessary to be 2 hours before the take-off at the airport at the latest.
