Our Top Tips for Your Visit to Japan
Getting Oriented...
Travelling from east to west, from Kanto to Kansai, from a condensation of modernity to the authenticity of Japanese culture.
Kanto is the region of the Japanese megalopolis formed by Tokyo, Kawasaki and Yokohama. Kansai is the region that brings together Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Himeji, the region that concentrates the soul of Japan.
Full Immersion...
Take a bath in an onsen, a natural outdoor thermal spring whose water comes from natural volcanic springs.
The city of Kinosaki has no less than 7 of them! Note that onsen do not always accept people with tattoos. It is customary to be completely naked (men and women separated) to go there.
Get the Big Picture...
Climb to the top of the Tokyo SkyTree, Japan's tallest tower. Perched at 634 metres, it offers a magnificent view of the city.
Visit the water temple, Kiyomizu-dera, a complex built into the mountainside east of Kyoto, that combines a Buddhist temple and a Shinto shrine.
