OKAYAMA

Finally, enjoy the traditional district of Bikan and its typical houses, or make a diversion to the Japanese sword museum in Bizen.
HIROSHIMA & MIYAJIMA
Scarred by the violence of the war like no other city in the world, Hiroshima still bears many traces of the tragedy that took place on 6 August 1945. Head to the Genbaku Dome, which means "atomic bomb" in Japanese, which has become a must-see symbol of peace because of its resistance to the violent incident. The Peace Memorial Park, located in the city centre, meanwhile, traces the history of the city through several dozen monuments.
Miyajima, a small mountainous island of 39 km², is made up of a small inhabited part and a large part of wild land. Situated in the Seto Inland Sea, don't miss visits to the many temples that litter "the island of the gods". The floating Torri of Itsukushima Jinja is one of Japan's emblems; a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its popularity is totally justified.
