Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali, home to many artists studios, museums and traditional souvenirs. Being almost right at the centre of the island, swathes of rice paddies, an active volcano and lush forest cover the surrounding landscapes, adding to the immersive experience of visiting the 'real' and more traditional part of the island.
The beaches in Bali are famous for surfing, diving and snorkelling, so watersports lovers will be in their element. The dining and bar scene are also well known for being outstanding, with chic sunset view bars and world class gourmet restaurants lining the shores of the most popular tourists spots.
Your Itinerary —
Arrive at Ngurah Rai international airport in Denpasar the capital of Bali, "The Island of thousand temples". Ubud is well known as the centre of art in Bali, geographically located in the centre of the island and home to many famous artists both native and foreigners. Ubud spreads its charm through art, especially painting, but the laid-back surrounding atmosphere in every corner of this beautiful village is not less worthy to be pursued. Check in at your hotel. Free at leisure.

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning head to Kesiman or Batubulan village to witness the most well-known dance among visitors in Bali, the Barong & Keris dance.
Afterwards, explore some artist villages nearby along with Celuk for its gold & silver smiths where you'll see first-hand how they dedicate their time to making beautiful artworks. Visit the next village, Mas, where many famous Balinese wood carvers are from.
Head to Tampak Siring to visit the Tirta Empul Temple, famous for its holy water - where Balinese worshippers have been drawn for more than a thousand years. You will find a bathing pool of natural spring water with archetypal Balinese old-style designs.
Continue to central Ubud, to discover Ubud's Royal Palace, which was built in the 16th century. Till today, the palace is still home to Ubud's king and the royal family.

Breakfast at hotel. Check out from your hotel and then continue to explore the eastern part of Bali. The first stop is the ‘Elephant Cave’ of Goa Gajah, which dates back from the 11th century and is surrounded by lovely landscaped gardens. Proceed to Semarapura to visit the ruins of Klungkung Palace, of which the Kertagosa Pavilion is the best preserved section. Its ceiling features illustrations portraying visions of heaven and hell.
Head along the south-eastern coast towards Kusamba to visit the eerie ‘Bat Cave’ of Goa Lawah temple. The cave’s walls are thick with thousands of free-tailed bats, who, according to legends, are devoured by the mythological serpent Basuki, which resides deep in the cave. Admire the views over the Badung Strait and, weather permitting, explore the island of Nusa Penida.
Continue to explore Tenganan village, home to the Bali Aga people. You’ll see the village’s primitive architecture as well observe the weaving of the rare “double ikat" pattern and basket weaving. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure.

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning continue to discover the northern part of Bali via Besakih & Kintamani. Firstly, visit the Tirta Gangga water palace; this sacred water palace was built in the early twentieth century by the last king of Karangasem. It boasts many decorative ponds and fountains, lush plant life and natural bathing pools.
Next drive to Besakih; en route you’ll stop in the village of Sibetan to visit a salak plantation, where you can taste Bali’s famed ‘snake skin’ fruit.
Continue your journey towards the slopes of the Agung volcano, where the Pura Besakih temple, the largest and holiest Hindu temple in Bali, is located. It is popularly known as the Mother Temple, and you will be able to appreciate why when you stand in the shadow of this 800-year-old complex. There are 22 different temples on layered ridges, with each ascension offering ever-more magnificent views of the valley below. Through twisty roads you will reach Penelokan, Kintamanito enjoy the breath-taking views of the Batur volcano and the crater lake below.
Afterward drive to the north of the island for Lovina, check in at your hotel and rest of the day free at leisure.

Wake up early in the morning, and jump aboard a traditional fishing boat for dolphin watching before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
Continue your day heading to south coast of Bali, Nusa Dua. A stop at Banjar hot spring and then continue to admire the wide expanse of Lovina beach in the distance from the top of the hill where the Buddhist monastery Brahma Vihara is located.
Head down to Bedugul on the southern shore of Lake Beratan. The lake is also home to one of Bali’s most romantic shrines, the Ulun Danu Temple, which is dedicated to the Goddess of the Waters. This serene location exudes tranquillity and spirituality.
Afterwards, meander through a small wreck road to reach Jatiliuih village. Along the way your eyes are pampered with alluring scenery. Upon arrival at Jatiluih, a spacious fascinating rice terrace in Bali is a true highlight. Prior to this, you may have a quick stop at Candi Kuning to visit the colourful fruit market.
Your last visit for today is Tanah Lot. One of the most famous temples in Bali set dramatically on a small rock about 100m off the coast. When the weather permits, Tanah Lot will offer you an exquisite sunset and leave the temple just a silhouette.
