Your Itinerary In Detail —
Day 1: Arrival in Legian
Arrival at Denpasar airport. Welcome by your driver and guide. Transfer to Legian and check-in at your hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight at JAYAKARTA BALI BEACH RESORT & SPA in Deluxe Room (or similar).
DAY 2: LEGIAN (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Free morning to relax after a long journey. Around noon, leave for a lunch in a local restaurant, and then visit Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi: this temple complex is huge. Built in 1634 in typical Balinese style, it was the state temple of the Kingdom of Bali, which ruled until 1891. Afterwards, visit the sea temple of Tanah Lot. After the visit, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: LEGIAN - LOVINA (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Go to the village of Belimbing for a walk around the village, crossing tropical vegetation and rice terraces as far as the eye can see. You'll see plenty of different species of tree including clove, mango, pepper, and cinnamon.
Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, head to Lovina via Seririt. Explore the only Buddhist monastery on the island: the Brahmavihara Arama. Situated on a hill, this temple is a place of retreat where silence is the rule.
Continue towards the hot springs of Banjar. The Banjar Springs, which come from the volcanic rocks of the mountain, have three hot water pools for relaxation. Swimming is available on site for those who wish (towels not provided). Note that the springs are open to the public. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the ANEKA LOVINA hotel in Superior Wing room or similar.
DAY 4: LOVINA - UBUD (Breakfast, Lunch)
Early morning departure by outrigger canoe to watch the sunrise at sea and meet the dolphins. Dolphins are often present, but their presence is never guaranteed. Return to the hotel for breakfast.
After a short rest, leave for the visit of the Beji temple, the 'temple of the Lord to whom the earth belongs'. It is one of the most beautiful temples in the North. Surrounded by frangipani trees, it is frequented by peasants who ask for good rice and coffee harvests.
Continue to Bedugul for a visit to Ulun Danu Temple, located on the shores of Lake Bratan and stop at the fruit and vegetable market in Candikuning. Lunch at a local restaurant, and then visit the Sangeh house monkey forest. After the visit, transfer to Ubud.
Check in at the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight at ANANDA UBUD RESORT hotel in Deluxe room or similar.
Day 5: Ubud
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, leave for Kintamani. On the way, stop at the village of Tegallalang to admire the beautiful landscape of staircase rice fields and have a Balinese coffee tasting. Then visit the temple of the sacred spring of Sebatu.
Next up is the traditional village of Bayung Gede, with its unique hanging cemeteries. Lunch in a panoramic restaurant overlooking the Batur volcano and the volcanic lake of the same name. Then return to Ubud. On the way, visit the beautiful Gunung Kawi site and the nine ancient royal tombs of King Wungsu and his descendants. Dinner at lesiure and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6: UBUD (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Leave for Batubulan village to watch the Barong dance, which tells the story of the eternal battle between good and evil. According to Balinese belief, there is no winner.
Then visit a traditional Balinese house in Batuan village to learn about the Balinese way of life, followed by a visit to the village temple with its red bricks. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Tegenungan waterfall and the elephant cave of Goa Gajah. This day will be closed by a visit to the Ubud Monkey Forest and its surroundings. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 7: UBUD (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast at the hotel. Leave for Klungkung to visit the old Kertagosa Courthouse. Continue to Besakih via Bukit Jambul to enjoy the scenery of the valley and the ocean on the horizon.
Then, visit Besakih Temple, the mother temple of Bali, leaning against Mount Agung, the most sacred of volcanoes because it is the highest. It consists of a group of about thirty temples dedicated to all the gods honoured in Bali and to all the deified royal ancestors. Lunch at a panoramic restaurant overlooking the valley and the Agung volcano.
Afternoon departure to Bangli for a visit to the traditional village of Penglipuran with its Balinese architecture and Kehen temple with its centuries-old banyan trees. Return to Ubud for a dinner of local Balinese speciality 'Bebek Betutu/Stuffed Duck'. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 8: UBUD - AMED (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the east of the island. Stop at the village of Kusumba, a town known for its marine activity. Explore a sea salt extraction centre, where the salt is very famous and sold internationally. You will see the fishermen busy with the traditional salt making process.
Afterwards, visit Goa Lawah, which houses a beautiful temple, a high place of Balinese Hinduism. Over 1000 years old, it is still the site of many traditional ceremonies. It is juxtaposed with a cave in which thousands of bats swarm, gathering on its walls - hence the name "Goa Lawah", meaning bat cave.
Then drive to the village of Tenganan. This small village is inhabited by the Aga Bali, who settled on the island long before the influx of immigrants from the Majapahit Empire in the 16th century. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon visit to the ancient water tower of Tirtagangga where you can swim in the cool mountain spring before continuing to Amed. Check in at the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight at ARYA AMED RESORT in Deluxe Garden View Room or similar.
DAY 9: AMED (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Leave on a fishing boat to go snorkelling in the Amed sea, where you can admire corals and exotic fish. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon at your leisure. The car, drive, and guide are at your disposal. Dinner at your leisure and overnight at hotel.
DAY 10: AMED - DEPARTURE FROM BALI (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Leave for the south via the Seraya scenic road. En route, visit the ancient summer palace of Taman Ujung and the ancient royal palace of Karangasem.
Continue to Virgin Beach for swimming before heading to Candidasa for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, transfer to your beach hotel.
