New Delhi
A trip to New Delhi, India's dynamic capital, will introduce you to teeming bazaars, tree-lined boulevards, fascinating temples and historically important mosques. Somewhere between a place of intense spirituality and a dynamic eastern metropolis, this city offers something for all its visitors.
Its turbulent history is reflected in a wide variety of architectural styles, which testify to how the city has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. To see an example of the city's diverse cultural heritage, visit the Qutab Minar. This sandstone and marble brick minaret marked the beginning of Muslim rule in India. A short distance away, walkable by rickshaw, is the Presidential Palace (Rashtrapati Bhavan), where you can see the English and Indian architectural influences that characterise much of New Delhi. Walking along Rajpath Avenue (the King's Way), one can admire the Gateway of India, the monument to the Indian nation.
Agra, located 200 kilometres south of Delhi, is famous for being the city of the Taj Mahal, one of the most famous constructions in the world. Agra welcomes millions of travellers every year to enjoy one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Agra was the capital of the Mughal Empire between 1556 and 1658 and there are several places to see with notable monuments, such as the Agra Fort or the Mausoleum of Itimad-ud-Daulah.
Jaipur
Jaipur is the capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan, in the north-western part of India, also known as the pink city, the capital of the mythical State of Rajasthan. Its unparalleled beauty, charm and historical importance have been recognised by Unesco.
The town was built from 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II and the houses were built in pink stucco to imitate the red sandstone.
In Jaipur in the Rajasthan region, you can see a wonderful array of forts, palaces, temples and havelis that will fascinate you with the beauty of all its buildings.
