This tour will take you through the heart of India. Beginning and ending in Delhi, you will visit the famous Golden Triangle which includes Agra and Jaipur, taking in sights such as the iconic Taj Mahal and the Amber Fort. Once in a lifetime experiences will immerse you in this country, including rickshaw ride, a traditional Aarti ceremony and a boat trip down the river Ganges.
Your Itinerary —
Day 1 - Arrive Delhi On arrival, you will be met by a representative at the airport. Transfer to hotel and check-in at 12pm. Overnight at Sheraton New Delhi Hotel 5*
In the afternoon, explore New Delhi. Drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, through the impressive Rajpath to the World War I memorial arch, with a photo stop at the India Gate. Visit the Qutub Minar, the 72m high Minaret. Overnight at Sheraton New Delhi Hotel 5*
Day 3 – Delhi to Varanasi Check out from hotel and transfer to airport. Board Flight 6E 4308 for Varanasi. Arrive and transfer to hotel for check-in.
In the afternoon, visit Sarnath. Sarnath is the site where The Buddha preached his first sermon in the Deer Park. The complex houses Dhamek Stupa, which marks the location of a monastery. Visit the archaeological museum situated close by. Overnight at Raddison Hotel Varanasi.
Day 5 – Varanasi to Khajuraho Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, transfer to Varanasi airport. Board Flight AI 405 for Khajuraho. Arrive and transfer to Hotel. Check in at hotel.
In the afternoon, a sightseeing tour of Khajuraho. Eastern group of temples: Visits included are to Adinath Temple, Parshvanath Temple and Shantinath Temple. Western group of temples: Visits included are to Laxmana Temple, Khandariya MahadeoTemple, Chitragupta Temple, Varaha Temple, Nandi Temple, Devi Jagdamba Temple and Vishwanath Temple. Overnight at Radisson Hotel Khajuraho 5*
In the afternoon, proceed to visit Orchha Fort complex, which houses Raja Mahal or Raja Mandir, Sheesh Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, a temple, gardens and pavilions. Visit 'Chatries' or memorials to the rulers of Orchha, grouped along the Kanchana Ghat of the river Betwa. There are the 17th and 18th centuries beautiful cenotaphs of the rulers of Orchha. Overnight at Amar Mahal.
Day 7 – Orchha and Jhansi to Agra. Breakfast at hotel. Spend the morning at leisure for independent activities. In the afternoon, transfer to Jhansi railway station (18kms/ Approx. 30 mins ) Board 12279 Taj Express for Agra. In the evening, arrive and transfer to hotel. Check in at hotel. Overnight ITC Mughal 5*
In the afternoon, visit Agra Fort - behind its forbidding red sandstone Battlements lie palaces that tell the story of the Moghul Empire. Overnight at ITC Mughal 5*
Day 9 – Agra to Jaipur. Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, depart by road to Jaipur (240kms/ Approx. 6 hrs). En route visit Fatehpur Sikri - 37 km west of Agra lies the ghost City of Fatehpur Sikri - an epic poem in red sandstone, built by Emperor Akbar the Great in 1569 and deserted 14 years later because its water supply failed.
In the evening, arrive in Jaipur & transfer to the hotel. Overnight at ITC Rajputana 5*
In the afternoon, a city tour of Jaipur. Photo stop at ‘Hawa Mahal’ (Palace of Winds) Visit Jai Singh’s Observatory built in the 17th century by the founder of Jaipur who, besides being a prince was also soldier, astronomer and builder.
Visit City Palace, a part is now a museum that contains fine Rajput and Moghul paintings, rare manuscripts and an armoury, old carpets, and even amazingly embroidered clothes of the Maharajas and the Maharanis. Overnight at ITC Rajputana 5*
Day 11 – Jaipur to Delhi. Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, depart by road to Delhi (268 kms/ Approx. 6 hrs) Arrive in Delhi & proceed to your hotel. Overnight at WelcomHotel Dwarka New Delhi 5*
Day 12 – Delhi. Breakfast at hotel. Spend the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, check out from the hotel. Transfer to international airport and depart by flight back to the UK.
