Your Itinerary —

During their tour, our members will follow the itinerary as seen below.

Day 1: Arrival in Cochin
Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted by a local representative, before being transferred to the hotel for check-in at 2 pm. Heralded as the Queen of Arabian Sea, Cochin (Kochi) has been an important spice trading centre on the Arabian Sea coast since the 14th century. It was also the site of the first European colonial settlement in India and remained a settlement until 1530. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2: Cochin
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a morning city tour of Cochin. Visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace (closed on Fridays and National holidays) built by the Portuguese. Visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European Church in India. View the Chinese Fishing Nets, unique to this part of Kerala and a living symbol of a centuries old Chinese influence on this coast. In the afternoon you'll be taken to assist at a Kathakali dance show. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 3: Cochin - Munnar
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a morning drive to Munnara, famous for its tea plantations and beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure to visit the most gorgeous tea plantations of the area. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4: Munnar - Periyar
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Periyar, one of the most natural reserves in India. In the afternoon you'll take a boat ride on Periyar lake, all surrounded by a sensational tropical environment. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5: Periyar - Allepey
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll board a typical house boat at which point you will take a little cruise through the waters of this area. Navigate through the tropical landscapes and through the famous canals knows as “backwaters”. Overnight in a house boat.

Day 6: Allepey - Kumarakom
After breakfast in the house boat, you will have arrived into Kumarakom, a little town located in a group of islands over the lake Vembanad. In this area, you will get to see rice fields, palms, and canals. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 7: Kumarakom
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day to enjoy this beautiful area. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 8: Kumarakom - Cochin
After breakfast at the hotel, you will take a scheduled transfer at the allotted time, and journey to the airport for your departure flight to the UK.

Transfers: Return airport transfers and transfers during the tour are included throughout this offer.

Entry Requirements 

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on. 

You’ll need to get a visa before travelling to India. You can find further information about how to apply on the Indian High Commission website.

India’s Bureau of Immigration has announced that with immediate effect, foreign nationals who arrive at an Indian port holding non-machine readable passports will be denied entry. 

To transit through India you will need a transit visa. You can find more information on the Indian Immigration Bureau website.

All applicants of Pakistani origin who hold dual British-Pakistan nationality must apply for an Indian visa on their Pakistan passport. Those who have either renounced Pakistani nationality or cancelled their Pakistani passport would need to submit documentary proof of this.

Health

If vaccinations or other preventive measures are required, you will need to visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip.


You can take medicines into India as long as you carry the prescription with you. Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances are prohibited. Mosquito-borne diseases like Dengue Fever occur all year round. There’s been an increase in the number of cases of dengue fever, including in New Delhi.


UK health authorities have classified India as having a risk of Zika virus transmission. For information and advice about the risks associated with Zika virus, visit the National Travel Health Network and Centre website.


Cases of Chikungunya Virus have been confirmed in India, including in New Delhi. You should take steps to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.
