Your Destination —
The hotel is only a few steps away from Reykjavik attractions like the National Museum and University of Iceland. The Nordic house is just around the corner and the city center with its perpetual motion, museums, restaurants and shops, is only minutes away.
The old harbour is the heart and soul of Reykjavík. With a backdrop of majestic Mount Esja and the beautiful Faxafloi Bay, you'll find world-class restaurants, cutting edge galleries, funky cafés, and quirky shops. With it all, you’re still at the heart of a working harbour, where you can watch ships come in with their daily catches.
For stunning views of the city climb up Hallgrímskirkja Church tower or visit the pearl - an otherworldly creation with a viewing platform and a revolving restaurant on top of hot water storage tanks.
Your Excursions —
Experience the mysterious and beautiful Northern Lights in Iceland. Watch their swirling wild dance across the night sky in fantastic shapes and colours.
The Northern Lights Tour takes you out of Reykjavik city to the best places to see Northern Lights and witness one of nature’s most spectacular displays.
When to see the Northern Lights
The season for Northern Lights in Iceland extends from the tail end of the summer from September through winter and well into April.
The best time to see Northern Lights is in the middle of winter when the weather is the coldest and when it is the darkest. Crisp cold evenings with skies clear enough to see stars is a prime indicator for auroral activity.
Duration: 3 - 5 hours
Please note: We cannot guarantee sightings even if the Northern lights tour is operated.
The Blue Lagoon is a unique geothermal spa situated in a vast lava field on Reykjanes Peninsula just 20 minutes from Keflavik international airport. Simmering around 37 to 39°C the Blue Lagoon's waters contain minerals and salts essential for wellbeing as well as an algae that stimulates the skin’s natural collagen production.
The Blue Lagoon offers variety of recreational options besides bathing in its milky blue waters. You can take a walk in the Lagoon’s spectacular surroundings, relaxing in a geothermal steam bath or release the stress from your shoulders under the Blue Lagoon's waterfall.
On site there is also a fantastic restaurant with a la carte menu and a Blue Lagoon shop, selling skin care products based on a unique blend of Blue Lagoon geothermal seawater active ingredients: minerals, silica, and algae.
Please note: Bathrobe, towel, bathing suit, slippers can be rented (fees apply).
The Golden Circle tour showcases some of Iceland's most popular tourist attractions including the country's best known natural, cultural, and historic sites.
Golden circle tour description:
From Reykjavik the Golden Circle tour takes you right up to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the tectonic plates of Europe and North America meet and one of the world's oldest parliament was founded in 930 AD.
You‘re then treated up close and personal to one of Iceland‘s largest personalities: Gullfoss (Golden Falls). Majestic and thunderous, the force and beauty of this two tiered waterfall will be something your camera wants to linger on.
Lunch break is usually at Gullfoss Cafe near Gullfoss waterfall, but in some cases a stop is made for lunch at the Information Center by Geysir geothermal area.
Next up is Geysir geothermal area, home of the famous Geysir and Strokkur hot springs. The Strokkur hot spring erupts every 5 minutes or so, making it one of the most active geyser.
From Geysir area the Golden Circle tour proceeds to Skálholt Church which was the seat of religious power in Iceland for centuries and where some of the most dramatic events in Iceland's history took place.
On the way back to Reykjavik you'll get a chance to visit Hellisheiði at the foot of Mt. Hengill Volcano where earth's most brutal forces are harnessed and converted to clean energy for space heating. (Please note that this part of the tour is subject to change according to the season.)
Excluded: Lunch. You are welcome to bring lunch with you or buy something at the lunch stop.
Duration: 8.5 hours
