Day 1-2
Day 1: Arrival in Reykjavik
Head from the airport into Iceland's vibrant capital, and visit its cultural hotspots and hidden gems at your leisure.

Day 2: Volcano crater, fjords and mountains
At 9 am meet your tour guide and depart from Icelandair Natura hotel. Travel west along the Hvalfjörður fjord and visit the charming town of Borgarnes. Enjoy an easy hike to the crater of Grábrók volcano amidst an active lava field. Further north, visit Glaumbær, home to one of Iceland's most beautiful turf farms and fascinating folk museums. Continue along the picturesque fjord landscape and over several mountain passes until you reach Akureyri, the capital of northern Iceland.

Day 3-5
Day 3: North Iceland's capital, Lake Mývatn and geothermal baths
Wake up in the picturesque town of Akureyri and visit one of its many museums or take a trip to its verdant botanical garden. Enjoy panoramic views of the Eyjafjörður Fjord before heading out in the afternoon to Goðafoss, known as the waterfalls of the gods. Explore Lake Mývatn, known for its geological wonders and abundant birdlife and see Kálfaströnd's bizarre lava formations, Skútustaðir's pseudo-craters and the tephra cone of Hverfjall. End your busy day of sightseeing with a deeply relaxing dip in Mývatn's natural geothermal baths and take in the unmissable views.
Please note: It is possible to see the Northern Lights in the evening from September to mid-April.

Day 4: Lava labyrinth, hot springs and journey east
Spend your morning strolling through the enchanting lava labyrinth of Dimmuborgir, nick-named 'the dark castles' before visiting the Námaskarð hot springs area, with its bubbling mud pools and steaming volcanic craters. In the afternoon, travel through eastern Iceland's uninhabited highlands with their unspoilt natural beauty.

Day 5: Eastern Fjords
Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the fjords and the picturesque tiny fishing villages situated at the end of winding roads. In the afternoon, spot Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier, visible throughout southeast Iceland.

Day 6-8 or 10 (depending on the option chosen)
Day 6: Vatnajökull National Park, Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach and the South Coast
Start the day with a stop at Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon filled with floating icebergs, where you may even get to see seals. Stroll through Diamond Beach, where ice and volcanic terrain make a striking contrast, then arrive at Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe's largest glacier.
Traverse Eldhraun Lava Field in the afternoon and experience the heat of molten lava in the unique Icelandic Lava Show. Walk along the extraordinary black lava beach of Reynisfjara before gazing at the impressive 60-metre-high Skógafoss waterfall and Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which plunges over the mountain.
A scenic boat trip between floating icebergs is included in the itinerary during September only.

Day 7: Icelandic stables and the Golden Circle
Embark on the famous Golden Circle Sightseeing Route. Learn about Icelandic horses at Friðheimar then see the steam rising up from geothermal fields where Strokkur erupts every 5-7 minutes. Continue your journey to 'The Golden Falls' at Gullfoss where two breathtaking waterfalls plunge 32 metres into the Hvítá River before stopping in Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. End your journey back in Reykjavík with a short city tour of the must-see highlights.
