Your Itinerary —
This afternoon you will arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport located 20km away from San Jose City. You will then be transferred to your hotel for check-in.
As the main entryway to the country, the Central Valley which includes San José, offers a variety of tourist, cultural and natural attractions, including Costa Rica´s best museums: the Pre Columbian Gold, Jade, National, Costa Rican Art, La Salle Natural Science, University of Costa Rica Insect and Children´s Contemporary Art and Design Museums. In addition, this region is home to the architectural jewel of Costa Rica: the National Theatre.
Today spend your day relaxing at the hotel. Dinner is on your own.
Overnight in San Jose.
After breakfast, you will be taken on a VIP City Bus Tour which includes lunch. A mini-bus will take you to the National Stadium where the first European Style double-decker bus in Costa Rica will be waiting for you to start the city tour.
A bilingual guide will explain the details of the main attractions while an onboard waiter will serve you beverages (including a welcome cocktail) Your tour will stop at some of the town's best-loved sights with a stop for lunch in between. Afterwards, there's a brief walking tour where you can become familiar with San Jose culture and history. You can later enjoy a marimba live folk music show in the comfort of the bus while you enjoy typical local drinks & dishes.
Overnight in San Jose.
Today you will be transferred to Arenal, with views of the conical shape of this massive mountain. On your way, admire the amazing scenery while crossing the cloud forest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Today you will be treated to a thrilling rafting activity, although this can be substituted by a Chocolate Tour at Tirimbina Biological Reserve if requested in advance. The Sarapiquí River is known as one of the most scenic rivers in Costa Rica's tropical rainforest & is used for rafting. What to bring: shorts or swimsuit, tennis shoes or rubber sole feet ware, tee shirt, solar filter lotion and extra clothes to change after the activity.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart on an amazing guided walk through the treetops. Admire the breathtaking scenery from a different perspective on the Sky Walk hanging bridges with this guided visit. Enjoy great views of the volcano and the lake from the adventure centre balcony.
At 5,437 feet, the Arenal Volcano looms large and ominous over the pastured green hillsides that surround its base. With a surface of over 33 square miles (85 square km) and a depth of some 200 ft (60 m), Arenal Lake is Costa Rica’s largest landlocked body of water. As such, it provides ample opportunities for activities such as windsurfing, fishing, boating and more.
The afternoon is free to do as you please.

After breakfast, your shuttle transportation will depart from your hotel towards the area of Tenorio National Park and where you will find the famous Celeste River. Your guided excursion will take you directly to the national park for a nature walk till the amazing Celeste Waterfall. The magnificent turquoise blue waters together with all the nature that surrounds it make of Rio Celeste a place to admire.
Continue along a 7km trail which will take you through the forest, to various interesting places, starting with magical Rio Celeste Waterfall & the blue lagoon, followed by an observation deck which offers incredible views of the volcano and the surrounding mountains.
Next, come two more unbelievable attractions: “Las Ollas” which are fumaroles filled with boiling mud and finally the “Teñideros” which is the place where the river acquires its unique colour due to a natural chemical reaction.
On the way back you will continue to walk alongside the riverbank, admiring the bubbling waters, the natural hot springs and the incredible scenery that surrounds you. The final highlight of your visit to one of the most popular attractions in Costa Rica will be a delicious hot lunch, before driving back to your hotel.

Tenorio Volcano National Park is located in the northern part of Costa Rica, which forms part of the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area. The jewel of the National Park is the volcano, from which it receives its name.

After breakfast, you will be whisked away to your final destination: a beautiful beach on Costa Rica's North Pacific Coast.

Day 8-9: Beach Relaxation
Spend your days relaxing on the beach & working on your tan. You can also book several excursions if you want to explore more of Costa Rica.

Today, you will be transported back to San Jose where you can spend your final night soaking up its culture.
