Your Itinerary —

During their tour, our members will follow the itinerary as seen below.

Day 1: UK - San Jose (Airport - San Jose - 45 minutes)
Welcome to Costa Rica! Meet your English speaking representative at the airport. Then transfer to your hotel located in downtown San José, the capital city, where you will receive your travel documents. Accommodation at your hotel and first night in San José.

Day 2: San Jose - Arenal (4 hours)
After breakfast, enjoy a shared transfer to the north of the country to reach La Fortuna, a town at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. At the end of the day, you will head to the thermal baths of Baldí: relax and dine in this family complex offering 25 pools of warm or temperate mineralized water and pure (4 of them are at room temperature), a large natural sauna and spa for Jacuzzi-type use, three minibars, two gourmet restaurants, 3.5 kilometers of paths and 3.4 acres of quaint tropical gardens. Check-in to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 3 & 4: Arenal
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a free day of leisure, exploring or making an optional excursion in the region. We recommend the Arenal Volcano National Park (closed on Mondays), hiking in the hanging bridges, trying a zip line canopy tour, and the Fortuna River Waterfall.

Day 5: Arenal - Manuel Antonio (3 hours)
After breakfast, enjoy a shared transfer to Manuel Antonio. The Manuel Antonio National Park is one of Costa Rica's most famous parks, visited by many tourists in search of a diversity of ecosystems and easy access to beautiful nature. Enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 6 - 9, 11 or 13: Manuel Antonio
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a day at leisure or opt to experience a local excursion in the area. We recommend the Manuel Antonio National Park (closed on Mondays), kayaking or taking a boat tour of Isla Damas, kayaking and snorkelling in the sea, trying a catamaran tour or going on a zip line adventure.

Day 7, 10, 12 or 14: Manuel Antonio - San Jose
Following breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a shared transfer to San Jose for your last night in Costa Rica.

Day 8, 11, 13 or 15: San Jose - UK
Following breakfast, enjoy a shared transfer to the airport for your return flight home.

Entry Requirements

You must ensure you have a valid passport to travel on.

If your passport describes you as a British Citizen, you do not need a visa to enter Costa Rica. For non-British citizens, you should check the Costa Rica embassy website.

If you choose a flight which routes via the USA and are travelling under the Visa Waiver Programme (VWP), you must obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) prior to departure. Passengers who have not received travel authorisation via ESTA prior to travel will be denied boarding. Please note that if you are denied from boarding, or are not allowed into the US for any reason, you will still be subject to our cancellation charges in accordance with our terms and conditions.

Evidence of onward travel

Entry to Costa Rica may be refused if you are unable to produce evidence of return or onward travel (for example a return air ticket).

Airport tax

There’s a departure tax of $29 when leaving the country by air. Most airlines include this in ticket prices; a few have still not done so. Check with your airline or travel company whether you need to pay this separately.

Health

If vaccinations or other preventive measures are required, you will need to visit your health professional at least 8 weeks before your trip.

Cases of Chikungunya virus have been confirmed in Costa Rica and the number of reported cases in the region is increasing. You should take steps to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.
