Your Itinerary —
Day 1: Arrival in Costa Rica
Upon arrival in San Jose, you will be transferred to your hotel (approx. travel time: 35 minutes / 18.5km) where you can spend some time unwinding after your flight or head out and explore Costa Rica's capital.
Nestled in Costa Rica's Central Valley and surrounded by green hills and dramatic volcanoes, modest San José is one of Central America's most laid-back and pleasant capital cities. With many museums and the nation's best dining and nightlife, there's plenty to keep you occupied in San José.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Caño Blanco or Matina dock with a stop on route at a local restaurant for a traditional Costa Rican breakfast. Board a boat & travel on the canals, into the heart of the rainforest (approx. travel time: 2 hours).
You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, followed by a visit to Tortuguero Town and Caribbean Conservation Corporation museum.
Tortuguero is the most important nesting site (July to September) in the entire western half of the Caribbean for the Green Turtle. The leatherback and hawksbill also nest along these beaches. This is a natural system of canals and navigable lagoons, of great scenic beauty, cross the park from southeast to the northwest forming the habitat for seven species of land turtles, the manatee and the crocodile. This is one of the rainiest and most biologically diverse regions in the country.
The afternoon is free to do as you please: experience the local culture developed in this lush tropical environment, visit some of the area's natural attractions, walk the nature trails or just relax in comfort on a hammock.

A turtle nesting night tour is available directly with the lodge for an additional cost.
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge then embark on a nature walk trip, returning to the hotel on time for lunch. Please check with the hotel and your guide the schedule for the day's activities. There will be an afternoon canal boat tour in an open boat so that participants can admire the wildlife of the area. Dinner is included at the lodge.

During nesting season at optional night tour for turtle, observation is available at the lodge at extra cost. By purchasing this tour you will contribute to the Turtle Spotters Program, which reduces the negative impact of tourism on the sea turtles, you will contribute to the local guides and the conservation of this species (Must wear dark clothing).
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Guapiles for lunch in a local restaurant then continue to Puerto Viejo. Puerto Viejo is a town located in the province of Limón, on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. The coral reefs of the Caribbean coast are known for the wide variety of aquatic animals that live in the beautiful crystal clear waters. The afternoon is free to do as you please.

Enjoy a complimentary breakfast on the first night of your stay then depart for the sloth sanctuary. This 300 acre stretch of land includes the delta of the Estrella River. This delta is very special because it provides food and sanctuary to many migrating birds, such as hawks, falcons, vultures, Orioles, and herons to name a few. It provides a home for a wonderful variety of small and large mammals, reptiles, butterflies and resident birds typical of the lowland tropical forest.
In this little bit of paradise, you can be sure to see sloths, kinkajous, poison-dart frogs, toucans and a myriad of other flora and fauna that is found in the tropical rainforest. They have identified 310 species of birds on the property and are still counting! End the day with a boat ride up La Estrella River, a great opportunity to observe different flora and fauna, as well as sloths in their natural habitat.

Day 6: Puerto Viejo
Spend the day soaking up the sun in this sun-drenched part of the world or opt for one of the excusions on offer at the hotel.

Day 7: Puerto Viejo - San Jose (approx. travel time: 4 hours 30 minutes)
You will be transferred back to San Jose for your final night in Costa Rica.
Take your time poking around historic neighbourhoods like Barrio Amón, where colonial mansions have been converted into contemporary art galleries, restaurants and boutique hotels. Visit the museums of gold, jade, art and natural history, and you'll begin to understand its multidimensional appeal.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home (approx. travel time: 45 minutes).

Radisson San Jose Hotel 4* – 1 night in a Standard Room
This hotel is in central San Jose and also close to Gold Museum and Central Park.
It has 210 rooms and welcomes guests with free breakfast, a casino, and an outdoor pool. Their recently renovated rooms provide iPod docks and refrigerators, 32-inch TVs, free Wi-Fi, coffee makers, hair dryers and free toiletries.
Evergreen Lodge – 2 nights in a Standard Room
This jungle lodge is set on a 5-acre piece of property. The hotel does a good job blending the structures of the lodge with the natural environment. Raised walkways extend between the various structures at the hotel, with trees and plants surrounding everything.
It’s not uncommon to see monkeys, birds, and even sloths on the hotel property. Needless to say, nature enthusiasts will love this place!
The rooms are set in attractive wooden buildings and bungalows. The rooms are spacious and simply decorated. All are equipped with comfortable beds and private bathrooms with hot water showers. Ceiling fans keep the rooms a pleasant temperature (no air conditioning).
The hotel holds a bar and restaurant (buffet style for main meals), a turtle-shaped swimming pool, a hot tub and spa.
