Day 1-3: San Jose - Tortuguero
Day 1: San José (30 min)
Welcome to Costa Rica! The local Representative will receive and assist you at the Airport where you will then transfer from Juan Santamaria International Airport to your hotel in San José.
Overnight in San José
Day 2: San José - Tortuguero (4 hrs on route & 1.5 hrs boat) (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Early Check-out before, at the agreed time, meet at the hotel reception for a semi-collective transfer to the wonderful area of Tortuguero in the North Caribbean. Take advantage of this transfer to enjoy the landscape. You will drive around a national park just after San José et then field of Banana while arriving towards Tortuguero.
Please note that this transfer will be shared with other tourists. Arrival to Guápiles city and breakfast in a local restaurant; continue to the pier where you will board the boat to Tortuguero, travelling on the canals, in the heart of the rainforest. You can enjoy the nature and spot some animals during this boat transfer. Open your eyes and get your camera ready, turtle and crocodiles are often seen here.
Once at the Lodge, check in, get comfortable and enjoy a tasteful lunch. In the afternoon, meet your guide for a tour through the Tortuguero Lagoon. Your will have the chance to feel immerse with nature while admire the profound vegetation and spot some wildlife. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the Lodge facilities.

Day 3: Tortuguero (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Breakfast is included at the Hotel. After breakfast, be ready to explore the Tortuguero National Park, a must activity while you are in Costa Rica. Discover its network of canals, lagoons and dense rainforests through a boat tour guided by an expert naturalist guide. Abundant wildlife inhabits Tortuguero, including 57 species of amphibians, 111 species of reptiles, and 60 species of mammals. Return to the Lodge.
During the afternoon, join to a guided nature walk through the private tropical trails of the lodge. Your guide will search for local species such reptiles, birds and some mammals; monkeys are abundant in this region. Learn more about the dense vegetation while you fall in love of the wild environment. *The order of the activities in Tortuguero may vary depends on the operation of the hotel.

Day 4-7: Tortuguero - Puerto Viejo, South Caribbean
Day 4: Tortuguero - Puerto Viejo, South Caribbean (1.5 hrs boat & 3 hrs on route) (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast included at the lodge & check-out. Afterwards, be ready to continue your trip. Take a shared transfer by boat and land from Tortuguero to the Restaurant located in Guápiles, where you will enjoy the lunch. At the restaurant, meet the Car Rental Representative to get your car and all the necessary information. Self-Drive to Puerto Viejo beach, located in the pristine South Caribbean coast. Arrival to the hotel, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the Caribbean vibes.

Day 5 & Day 6: Puerto Viejo, South Caribbean (Breakfast)
Breakfast is included at the hotel. Enjoy leisure days to discover by your own, the beautiful beaches of Puerto Viejo and Cahuita, some of the most relaxing and exotic in Costa Rica.
During your stay in the Caribbean, you can breathe an Afro-Caribbean heritage is reflected in the architecture, gastronomy, music and the feeling of a people. 30 minutes away from Puerto Viejo, you can drive to Cahuita National Park, home of abundance vegetation, rich biodiversity and wildlife.

Day 7: Puerto Viejo - Arenal (5 hrs on route) (Breakfast)
Breakfast is included at the Hotel & check-out. Afterwards, be ready to continue your self-drive trip to La Fortuna de San Carlos, home of the majestic Arenal Volcano. Enjoy leisure time to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities. The drive is long but its also a great way to discover the country and its different landscape. Don’t forget to stop in a local restaurant for lunch and enjoy the traditional plate of riz, beans & chicken. A lot of restaurant propose “ bird watching”, you can just choose a table, seat and look for birds.

Day 8-10: Arenal - Monteverde

Day 11-12: Monteverde - Manuel Antonio

Breakfast is included at the Hotel. Today enjoy an included visit to the beautiful natural gardens of Selvatura Park. While you are there, you should try the Zip line! One of the longest in Costa Rica is there, if you feel like it, you can do the last line the “Superman” way.
Butterflies & Hummingbirds Garden:
Visit the largest exhibitions of live butterflies in the world and a hummingbird garden where over 100 beautiful hummingbirds will be flying cheerfully around you. You can also see sloth in the park, and view of them are them and using it as a rescue home.

Self-guided visit to Manuel Antonio National Park:
Experience and discover by your own the amazing flora and fauna of the Central Pacific Coast. Take a self-guided hike to the famous national park of Manuel Antonio. Explore the trails that go from flat to very steep, relax at the beach and admire the abundant wildlife: sloths, birds and reptiles as well as admire orchids, butterflies and tropical trees.

Day 15: Departure (3 hrs on route) (Breakfast)
Breakfast is included at the Hotel & check-out. At the agreed time, self-drive to San Jose, to return the vehicle at the car rental office near the Juan Santamaria International Airport. Then, a shared shuttle will take you to the airport from the car rental office to your flight back home.

Car Hire:
For the freedom to explore your destination at your own pace, make the most of included car hire with your booking (flight-inclusive offers only). The named driver must present a credit card in their name when collecting the car (credit cards in other names will not be accepted).
