And for this new phase of its life, this country can count on its wonders, on the immortal charm of the Angkor temples, on the authenticity and hospitality of its inhabitants, on its magnificent natural parks and on its beaches, which have little to envy to neighbouring Thailand and Vietnam.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to extend your stay at the magnificent beach of Koh Rong, the second-largest island of Cambodia, where you can dive into a fairy sea surrounded by wild nature, then have fun in the evening at the parties on the white sand.

Day 2: Phnom Penh - City tour (Breakfast/Lunch)
Once known as the "Pearl of Asia", Phnom Penh was one of the most beautiful cities in the region. Located at the confluence of the Mekong River, Phnom Penh has been the capital of Cambodia for most of the last six centuries. Rich in history, the city offers many cultural and historical sites to discover.
Start your day with a visit to the Royal Palace, originally built in 1866 by the grandfather of the current King of Cambodia. The palace is a complex of splendid royal buildings with classical Khmer roofs, ornate gilding and intricate defensive wall layouts, featuring a great mix of Khmer architecture and a slight French touch. It includes the official residence of the royal family and parts of the huge palace compound, partially open to the public.
Head to the nearby Silver Pagoda, which houses many national treasures, including numerous gold and jewelled Buddha statues. Perched on the grounds of the royal palace, it is the country's most sacred temple.
Take time to learn more about the turbulent years of the Khmer Rouge with a visit to Tuol Sleng, a high school turned interrogation prison known as S-21 during the Khmer Rouge era and now a genocide museum dedicated to presenting the sad story of the thousands of innocent Cambodians who were tortured within its walls. Visit the museum, passing through the buildings' narrow corridors and former classrooms for a glimpse into Cambodia's turbulent past.
Continue to the hillside temple of Wat Phnom, which gave its name to the Cambodian capital. The temple was originally built to preserve four Buddha statues that were discovered in the heart of the Mekong River. Visit the temple surrounded by huge trees and mischievous monkeys as you listen to the legend of Madame Penh, the city's founder.
Access the pier for a good view towards the Mekong and Tonle Sap River.

- Banteay Srame, the 12th century Hindu temple often compared to a mini Angkor Wat. The rose-coloured sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished things Angkor has to offer.
We continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of huge trees and gigantic vines.
- Prasat Kravan - with its unique brick carvings.

The charming town of Siem Reap is defined by the Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO listed site, and the Tonle Sap Lake, where life is simple and slow, with people living on the water, close to nature. For the locals, life on the water is the greatest traditional culture that must be preserved before the rapid development of modern society.
Located 18 kilometres from downtown Siem Reap, Kampong Phluk is one of the most impressive and unspoiled permanent settlements on Tonle Sap Lake. Home to over 3,000 villagers, this charming village allows you to see the submerged mangrove forest and lakeside village life up close. Board the local boat and set off on a relaxing and informative cruise. Immerse yourself in nature and get a glimpse of the diverse village life on the lake as your boat glides between mangroves, stilt houses, the floating school and the police station. Watch floating life unfold as it does everywhere else in Cambodia. Have your camera ready to capture the panoramic view of the Tonle Sap Lake, local women or children crossing the river channel, or the villagers selling and buying goods at a makeshift floating market.
**Note: The boat trip on the Tonle Sap is not recommended during the dry season (March to August) due to the lack of water for navigation. During this period, this tour can be replaced by the Siem Reap countryside tour, the programme below:
