Welcome to Zinal
Tucked away at the far end of the Val d’Anniviers, Zinal sits at the foot of the legendary Couronne impériale, a majestic ring of peaks rising above 4,000 metres. Surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the Alps, this authentic Swiss village is a haven for skiers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking raw nature and unspoilt scenery.
The ski area offers 44 km of pistes, mainly suited to intermediate skiers, with long, scenic runs and wide open slopes framed by dramatic alpine landscapes. Snow reliability is excellent thanks to the high altitude and favourable natural conditions, making Zinal a dependable choice throughout the winter season. More adventurous skiers can explore freeride areas and off-piste terrain, while beginners will find quieter zones ideal for progression.
Beyond skiing, Zinal is a true mountain playground. Snowshoeing, winter hiking and cross-country skiing routes reveal pristine valleys and breathtaking viewpoints. The resort is also deeply rooted in alpine sporting culture, famously hosting the Sierre–Zinal race, known as the “Race of the Five 4,000s”, a symbol of endurance and mountain spirit.

Zinal —
Set at the end of the spectacular Val d’Anniviers in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Zinal is a high-altitude mountain village surrounded by some of Switzerland’s most iconic peaks. Sitting at around 1,670 metres, it is encircled by the legendary Imperial Crown, a ring of five majestic mountains including the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn and Dent Blanche. With its traditional chalets, pure alpine air and unspoilt scenery, Zinal offers an authentic and peaceful mountain escape, far from large, crowded resorts.

Good to know:
Zinal is accessible via Sierre, approximately 2 hours 30 minutes from Geneva Airport by car or train and bus. The best time to visit is from December to April for winter sports, and from June to September for hiking and alpine exploration. The local currency is the Swiss franc (CHF).
