Monthey —
Monthey is located in the heart of the Chablais region, near the Val d'Illiez. The town centre features historical highlights such as the castle, the Musée des Vieux Monthey and the legend of the Gros-Bellet, as well as the old wooden bridge over which Napoleon's troops once marched!
Performances, concerts and conferences attract culture lovers beyond the borders of the canton of Valais. Make sure to go to the weekly market on Wednesday morning under the trees in the central square. TheMonthey, which has been taking place for 100 years, is one of the most important in western Switzerland.
Monthey is also an ideal starting point for countless ski and hiking tours. But swimming, ice skating, tennis and horseback riding are also possible here. Fall in love with the breathtaking beauty of Valais!
